    @AlexMurphy

I'm happy to hear that it should work but as I said : RetroArch reload but the screen now show 1.3.4 - No Core instead of 1.3.4 - MAME 2003 0.78 and I cannot start the game at this point (please note that I have no Core under "Load Core" but all of my games are running fine)

Is the 1.3.4 - No Core error message rings a bell to anybody ? Maybe something I need to configure so the reload will work like adding Core, playing with the ON/ OFF feature for certain parameters ?

@dankcushions and @BuZz , already post this message on the Recalbox Forum but did not receive any answer about the "Load Configuration" function =(

Since it might be a bug in 1.3.4, I will stop harassing you =)

    Thanks for everything !

Did somebody resolve this problem? I tried with the rpie update method but it didn´t solve the problem. I can´t use the up direction. I tested and within emulationstation i can use everything without issues, but not with attract mode.
If someone know how to solve this i would really appreciate if they show a different method.
    Thanks a lot in advance

I get "permission denied" whenever I run this.

I tried using the terminal and the .scraper file.

I tried running it from the RetroPie aswell (with emulationstation closed).

The INFO loads correctly (I think) and then when it comes to /images it displays "permission denied".

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I'm mostly working with old handhelds. The Arcadia 2001 is an exception.
The other systems would be the Hartung Game Master, the Watara Supervision, Milton-Bradley Microvision, and the Creatronic Megaduck.

As far as test games I am using the following:
    Arcadia 2001: Astro Invaders
Hartung Game Master: Continental Galaxy, Space Castle
    Watara Supervision: Jaguar Bomber
    Creatronic Megaduck: Pile Wonder
    Milton-Bradley Microvision: All of them.

All seem to work in my desktop version of Mame 0.180, but somehow lr-mess-2016 doesn't like them. Everything seems to be in order with required BIOSes for the Game Master.

I looked in the ini files and found preferred names for software (e.g. Continental Galaxy 2020 becomes cg2020 and retitled the .bin files and .zip files accordingly, but still nothing.

I recently tried running Space Castle on Game Master again, and got this in runcommand.log:

    Parameters:
    Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mess2016/mess2016_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/gmaster/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/gmaster/scastle.zip" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

    "scastle" approximately matches the following
supported software items (best match first):

    /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh: line 961: 917 Segmentation fault /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mess2016/mess2016_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/gmaster/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/gmaster/scastle.zip" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

UPDATE: I am currently trying these games on the desktop version of MAME 0.174 instead of MAME 0.180, as lr-mess2016 is apprently based on MAME 0.174. Desktop MAME 0.174 64-bit is running the Supervision and Game Master games just fine. Megaduck test game works in Desktop MAME 0.174 as well, though apparently I had the alternate version of Pile Wonder.

UPDATE: Game Master, Megaduck and Supervision games match names and CRC hashes with the games listed in the XML for lr-mess2016 and Desktop MAME 0.174. However, so do 13 of my 15 Microvision games, which don't appear to work in Desktop MAME 0.174 or lr-mess2016. Weird.

I really didnt notice any features worth noting in the newer versions of lr-fba, so i just set it back to lr-fba 2012 (or whatever year they tacked onto the older version) - fixed the whole set without needing to redownload anything.

Did you dual-boot or did you install the kodi package?

I'm unable to even get a PS3 controller to work. It doesn't respond to any input commands from my controller. Did you ever get this working? Maybe I can modify what you did to fit my issue?

@caver01 thanks again. I read a bit now and I think I understand the role of retroarch, acting as an interface between emulationstation and the various emulators.
    That clears up a lot!
You are right about the shift function on my ipac too.
But I cannot end the Vice version on Retropie - even when using a keyboard. I need to open the vice menu (F12) and then navigate to "Quit vice".
But it's okay. For C64 emulation I find myself grabbing for the keyboard quite often.

    Cheers,

    Robin

@Dgeler said in PS1 USB adaptator not working ( Usbhid error -32):

@Dochartaigh Did you have this kind of error using a not working one ?

This was months ago, but I don't remember seeing any new error(s)...just the inability to map the buttons correctly making the controller useless - that's why I mentioned these controllers (along NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis) being flaky unless you find the right one. Heck, even that above adapter I linked to isn't perfect - it works on my like 12 different PS1/PS2 dualshock controllers but won't work on the non-dualshock/non-analogue-stick versions for some reason...
