@rodrigoleao said in [SOLVED] 8bitdo and dualschock 3 at same time:

Is it happen with your setup too? I'm using the default bluetooth of raspberry pi 3.

Yes it happens a bit for me too sometimes. I have both, a Raspberry PI 3B and 3B+, and as @mitu says the bluetooth of the plus is way better (but not perfect) than the normal one.

Also make sure that the battery of the 8bitdo controller is charged, I found out that when it's about to get flat, it has a lot of latency/delays in response.

Good you sorted out your problem!

@voyagerxp If you downloaded the image from retropie.org.uk/download, this message wouldn't appear - where did you get your image ?
Please note that we don't support 3rd party images, especially the ones bundled with ROMs - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

@keksninja This looks like a bad written image, try re-flashing the SD card proper with Etcher.

@Darksavior That's more or less the results i expected in terms of performance for lr-mame on a rpi3.

Sadly, sega system 32 is not available in fbalpha, but maybe someday.

WIthout going into every game in MAME and doing per game settings for vertical and horizontal games, is there a way to set up all horizontal games with one setting and all vertical games with another?

Then when I'm in individual games, if they don't look right, I can tweak them but they'd generally be close to start.

@megaJekan said in Is it worth it to upgrade from Raspberry Pi 3 B to Pi 3 B+ for faster PSX emulation:

@dankcushions with setting 480p as resolution and disabling shaders slowdowns in Tekken 3 are minimal now.

nice! but you really don't have to use 480p. like i said, pscx-rearmed is full speed (other than the same slight micro-slowdown emulations issues) on a pi2 at 1080p at default settings.

@megaJekan I don't use bi-linear and my monitor is a PC CRT (VGA converter). I would say it looks ok, not spectacular or good. Especially Arcade games are problematic, but that is another story. On the PCSX-ReARMed I use the Shader "scanline.glsl" (Filter:Linear, Scale:Don't care) from emulators SHADERS menu. Honeytly, this does not look that great, but it is the only one working so far. On some other consoles I even use the "sharp-bilinear-scanlines.glsl". On the PSX some games look great with that sharp one, but some others are ugly. Crash Team racing is unplayable ugly with the sharp one, thats why i use standard scanline shader. I suppose it have something to do with different resolutions used by the games.

As @mitu said. The reason behind it is that the mappings are stored under the name of the controller in the directory /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/autoconfig/. Thus, if you have identical controllers, only one mapping will be stored for both of them, and if their wiring is different, their common mapping won't fit one of them.

    edit: "will be" -> "are" + "doesn't" -> "won't" 😉

@JDMDingo said in Force HDMI over Raspberry Pi Official LCD Screen:

@sli4 let me know if you got it running. Did you make the files (initDisplay.sh, config_hdmi.txt and config_lcd.txt, hdmi.name) in windows? Is so you need to convert them by using:

    sudo apt-get install dos2unix sudo dos2unix /home/pi/initDisplay/initDisplay.sh

I also converted the config files, however that was probably not necessary.

Also the original post is not really clear about the configs. You copy all the text from config.txt and paste it into config_hdmi and config_lcd. Inside config_hdmi.txt scroll down untill you see “#hdmi_drive=2” and remove “#” then scroll to the bottom and add “ignore_lcd=1”. In config_lcd.txt scroll to the bottom and add “lcd_rotate=2”.

This is the clearest part of the thread. Thank you. I was getting very confused at the start.

    @E3L1 , try this:
    In terminal type:
    sudo nano /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf
    Then Change
    defaults.pcm.card to 1
    To
    defaults.pcm.card to 0
    Save, exit, and reboot.

@Boochk said in Lr-Atari800 800/5200 Cannot Save 800XL or 5200 Console In Config Files:

Thank you Mitu for your help! By the way, somehow I was launching a different menu that changes where you change the emulator lr-atari800 and atari800 and looking there for the settings.

That's the Runcommand launch menu, allowing you to switch between emulators (where there is more than 1 for a system/console).

Glad you got it fixed, have fun with your RetroPie project !

I already try this and the result is the problem returning when I add a new game to favorites.

Yesterday I do some tests and the problem occur with Snes, Megadrive and Nes gamelist.xml. I don’t know the the reason and not see any difference between the files.

@chubsta said in Clarification on running roms from usb drive please:

Transfer the existing RetroPie file structure

That's clearly under the Manual Mount section and - obviously - in direct contradiction with the previous sentence from the Automatic method

It will proceed to automatically copy the RetroPie folder AND all of its contents (you may need to reboot to start the copying)

I see lr-hatari can load an .m3u to allow disc control from retroarch. It will be automatically read from an uncompressed zip along with disk images.

    Edit
It won't work within a zip, but works great loading directly from an m3u. Also, the disk image extension cannot be changed (eg. .disk1).

I changed the disk extension to uppercase and removed it from es_systems.cfg

I suppose you could use a hidden folder as well.

  • PAL/50Hz - how is this working?

First and most obvious question: are you sure that your PAL Roms aren't simply being sped up and running at 60Hz?

The refresh misalignment from a 50Hz game on a 60Hz display isn't all that noticeable, and certainly not in games that run at frame rates lower than the console's host refresh rate. Chaos Engine and God's definitely fall under that category as games that run at 25fps/30fps.

If you have games running at a smooth 50fps on 60fps display and there's a lot of movement along one axis (horizontal or vertical scrolling), the judder will be somewhat more apparent.

RetroPie emulators can be configured from the emulator launch menu to support a 50Hz refresh rate if your display supports it. I've found that this does make a slight but worthwhile difference, especially with C64 and console games.
