    Just tried that and still get the same error as before

    lv10: System "steam"is missing name, path, extension, or command!

    Edit:

    Solution found

    <system>
    <name>steam</name>
    <fullname>Steam</fullname>
    <path>~/RetroPie/roms/moonlight</path>
    <extention>.sh .SH</extention>
    <command>bash %ROM%</command>
    <platform>steam</platform>
    <theme>steam</theme>
    </system>

    extention is incorrect

    <system>
    <name>steam</name>
    <fullname>Steam</fullname>
    <path>~/RetroPie/roms/moonlight</path>
    <extension>.sh .SH</extension> -------------------- change here to extension like its meant to be
    <command>bash %ROM%</command>
    <platform>steam</platform>
    <theme>steam</theme>
    </system>

    What a noob mistake guess I just didn't notice.

    The menu has appeared now so sweet..

    @somguy The problem is that you're using BerryBoot and the partition layout is different from the layout expected by the resize2fs_once service (the normal Raspbian sd-image layout with 2 partitions).
    You either disable this service or ignore the error.

    I don't know how to answer 'what power supply'. what do you mean? Is there not only one?

    No, there are thousands of power supply options. Which one do you have? Does it supply 2.5A at 5V?

    its wireless by the way

    @djlf This is how you fix it. In the command line run cd RetroPie-Setup then
    git reset --hard
    This will remove the change that was made preventing it from updating. What else it will do to your system I cannot predict or know.
    Then, if you are determined to update just update normally.

    @bme said in Hori Pokken mame configuration:

    While I'm able to use the controllers with other emulators and with mame-libreto, only a fraction of the games I tried actually launch when using mame-libretro.

    That's because arcade games need the correct ROMset for the emulator used - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Arcade/.
    I know this is not a solution to your problem, but mame4all is an old codebase and it's only kept for its better performance on Pi1/0 systems. You will get better support using a Libretro emulator like lr-fbalpha/lr-mame2003/lr-mame2010 or ,if you prefer a non-Libretro emulator, advmame.

    @jpoul said in How can I hide subfolders in EmulationStation?:

    Shouldn't the feature "Parse Gamelists only" show exactly what is on the gamelists.xml file - as in the list of game, no matter where they are and disregard everything else?

    No, that's not how it works. It just means that it will not scan for new ROMs in the configured path to add them to the game list.

    If I do change the rom path, shouldn't I have to put the gamelist.xml in that path as well?

    Yes, either that or put it in the default place (/home/pi/.emulationstation/gamelists/nes).

    Yeah, lr-vice virtual keyboard is flawed, it seems an hit or miss, game sensitive. On older version there was no way to activate cursor, so better than nothing.
    It is better to use usb keyboard for sure.

    A Sega CD game? That would probably instantly explain why it isn't working. I knew I found it in a pile of other TG-16 roms so that's why I stuck it there but if it belongs in the Sega CD pile then I'll give that a whirl.

    I'll keep picking at this one rom and emulator at a time.

    Well, all is well. It worked and worked perfectly. The saved games were there and ready to go. They loaded and played without issue, though it's a bit different playing them on the Zero than it is on the 3 B+, of course. Lower resolution and the startup takes a bit longer.

    Right now I'm updating Emulation Station so that I can get the scraper working properly, which went fairly quickly with the Pi 3 B+, but is taking forever with the Zero. It's chugging along, though.

    Thanks for you help, everyone. I truly do appreciate it. :)

    I took a quick look and it seems that, while possible, 'Stepmania' on RetroPie would require a lot of work for a somewhat flawed result. You would need to compile it for the Pi, run it in the desktop environment to get experimental OpenGl support and then create a launch script to execute from Emulation Station. After that, integrating and mapping a dance mat would also be required. When it's all said and done, it looks like those who got it working previously saw poor performance. You can read up on it more yourself by just searching for "Stepmania Raspberry" in Google.
