@dankcushions ok. My wii madcatz fightstick is setup the way i mentioned so they at least kept with that layout on the wii. Honestly i think its retarded to have your R buttons on the left side of your L buttons. Makes no sense.

@bulletbutter no, but you could copy the relevant config files/directories over, with much the same effect. it depends what kind of things you've configured.

No I'm still using a normal pi3 although I am considering getting the 3b+. Im starting to believe that it's the actual image at fault as wrote a new official image to this card and other cards I have without issues.
The strange thing is that win32 said it was read and completed fine. But now my backed up image seems to be 'broken' and unbootable when written to cards.
Any ideas?

@darksavior Everything is possible, but strangely is, nobody else experienced this. I wonder, if i use an older backup image where it occured, if it still occures. I may test it someday and if I do, i will report here. Until then, I run around with a big question mark above my head.

@tr33x0rs Yeah, about that - I've looked again and the shutdown command is not used anymore, instead there's an external script that does the shutdown/reboot/restart/quit. For Windows, there's no such script, so unfortunately you'll not be able to use that menu.

@quicksilver Thanks! The Flirc case will do the job then. I'm putting the case in my PS1 shell (hope it fits) so whether it's a Flirc or a Kintaro doesn't really matter. ;-)

@clyde my encoders buttons and joysticks arrived today but im atill waiting on the wood for the cabinet to be cut out and post to me but once i receive it and get it all set up i will post some pics

@cloudlink I just figured it out. Hit TAB while the game is running then VIDEO. Change MODE to anything besides AUTO and the sharp pixels are back. It doesn't work as well for Advmame 1.4 but Advmame and Advmame 0.94 seem to do the trick.

Brilliant that Idea worked well got me on the right path. So the 'git clone github.com/retropie/RetroPie-Setup' part did not work but what I did was 'git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup.git' (same Idea) and it worked. So you where right it must of been corrupted. So now I am able to update my script and get 4.4.

Try quitting Retroarch after you change to Atari 800XL (don't go back to emulated system, just quit RetroArch and it will exit to ES, then start game again and it should work). I believe RA saves configs on exit.
If this doesn't work then change to 800XL (or better set it to 130XE as it has 128kB of RAM) and select save core override in RA.
