Try this simple tutorial here : Development of module-script generator for lr-mess and mame standalone
You will be able to run it with Lr-Mess and MAME standalone.
The name of the game folder will be svision (for supervision),

The controller configuration for Daphne is explained in the Docs.

lr-daphne seems to be dead (only one minor commit since Sep 2019). The most promising Daphne fork at the moment seems to be Hypseus-Singe. It is mainly discussed here and here.

specifically the problem is with package

chromium-browser 88.0.4324.187-rpt1

work around is to install chromium meta package

sudo apt-get install chromium

which installs

chromium 90.0.4430.212-1~deb10u1

and the issue is worked around.

@dktpi then no, it's not possible. Virtualbox runs only on a PC system (Intel/AMD CPUs) and not on a Pi (which has an ARM CPU).

Been there. :D More often than not, 4K TVs are the culprit.

@mitu i updated the firmware to the latest release v1.36 and tested the result yesterday evening.
A step forward: the pad does now work perfect when it is connected wireless.
As soon as i use it wired the strange behavior returns :)
But in the end i can live with that, i now can finally try all the games that do not show up importent text in "lr-ppsspp".

@sleve_mcdichael actually neverminded, that worked! I did a fresh install of RetroPie on another SD card and added the commit code version number 110020000 to the ppsspp.sh file after master. Then I Installed from source and it installed the right version (v1.10.2). Games that were broken are working again. Really appreciate the help!

EDIT - For others trying to do this, do the following to install PPSSPP v1.10.2:

Make sure the PPSSPP emulator package is not installed (remove it if it is) Open file /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/emulators/ppsspp.sh with the editor of your choice Edit the line :
rp_module_repo="git https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp.git master"
to be :
rp_module_repo="git https://github.com/hrydgard/ppsspp.git master 110020000" Save your changes to the file Install PPSSPP emulator package from source

There's a thread about Where to (legally) acquire content to play on RetroPie. Note that the thread starter can't keep up with updating the list in the opening post with the stream of suggestions from others there. So, after reading the list, you should also skim the thread backwards from the end to see the most recent suggestions.

going off on tangents here, but: RetroPie -> Run Command Configuration -> set Joy2Key version to udev (instead of sdl) seems to have fixed the issue with the config menus not responding to controllers in the latest RetroPie update, although the pop up option to edit emulator configs no longer seems to show up during game loading
PPPS: Re-enablng the launch menu from the same area will fix that last part.

Yes. So this needs to go, I think, after the -config option for those custom jzintv commands. It wasn't working for me until I did that. If all else fails, this version of the xboxdrv line worked for me:

jzintv-xboxdrv = "sudo /opt/retropie/supplementary/xboxdrv/bin/xboxdrv --config /opt/retropie/configs/xboxdrv/intellivision.xboxdrv >>/dev/shm/runcommand.log & /opt/retropie/emulators/jzintv/bin/jzintv -p /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS -q --displaysize=%XRES%x%YRES% --kbdhackfile=/opt/retropie/configs/intellivision/hackfile_trondd.cfg %ROM%; sudo killall >/dev/null xboxdrv"

But you will need to update RetroPie from source for the PS3 buttons to show up in event_diag.
Now if I could figure out why the config menus no longer work with controllers (I need my keyboard to use them)...

@dankcushions I may try another SD if I need to rewrite the image. I just purchased a new Sandisk extreme from a Best Buy last week. The one I’m using currently I bought from someone, so it’s possible it’s a fake, idk at this point.

We don't support 3rd party images - only the one from retropie.org.uk/download. Ask the creator of the image for support or use the installation from the link provided.
