Can you be more specific ? Video in connections does the older TV support ? SCART/Composite/Component/VGA ?
The simplest solution is to get a composite video cable and use the analog output from the PI to connect to the TV.

@mutedemon It depends on the theme - what theme are you trying to modify ?

@Eyeball_36 iirc there's a specific sensor of sorts that would enable the potential to have an onscreen battery type of thing but it wasn't part of the raspiboy hardware. It was one of the grievances I had with the hardware, until it just fried completely. Sorry I'm not much more help

@Bryam_h_m make sure you have the psx bios installed. if you do, it may just be a bug in the emulator, which may have no fix.

@tomjohn77 If that suggestion doesn't work just reorder the manually edited es_systems.cfg so that the the system you want to start on is at the top and the system you want to be left of the starting system is on the right then put the Retropie menu "system" in the middle of es_systems.cfg

So what you are saying is that I need to hookup the buttons on each controller so that they are the same value. IE button 1 for each controller is ''A''. I never had this problem before but will just rewire my board to make sure they match.

@Heartless yeah that's what I figured. I suppose you could make changes to the mupen64plus.sh blacklist or one of the video plugin .ini files but that is a little above me.

Unless it explicitly says otherwise C64 roms (and Amiga, Spectrum, CPC ... all the classic 'mostly' European home computer systems) are PAL and run at the correct speed and music pitch on an emulated PAL C64. The problem then becomes running a 50hz system against a fixed 60hz refresh rate LCD, causing jerky scrolling, which you solved by switching TV mode. 'Mostly' NTSC systems with NTSC romsets like SNES and Genesis need to run at 60hz though (otherwise it's jerky scrolling and wrong speed again, this time too slow), so there should be a way to dynamically switch refresh rate for each system. I'm working on it, but my bash scripting skills are low to non-existent :)

And yes, once you cross into 3D systems it's another ballgame completely.

ok so i found one wery tidies way to delate marquees. go to file manager-home-pi-Retropie-roms-then select emulator for example atari2600-then click on images- then delate evary marquees file. when i scrape the system again the marquees do not get reinstalled
