@darksavior Thanks for the info. I've tried the 7502.bin as well. What I wasn't aware of was that some games have protection, I take it FF8 is one of the games with protection. I tried another game (GTA London) and this worked okay, (not perfectly, but it worked :-D) I'll have to go download the USA set and convert to PBP I guess rather than the EU set.

did you copy all the bios' directly in the bios folder:

Hello, are you sure that emulator have binded "right key" ? I mean, if emulator doing something when you press right arrow on keyboard?

@retrocraze you may try to set the resolution you want (smaller than your tv native resolution) in the config.txt file and, in your tv video aspect options menu, set "original" or something similar, depending on your tv brand.

I just changed the values in the config file so that the display fits my telvision perfectly. Then when I started a playstation game, I noticed the mouse pointer is on my screen too. I went to google to find out how to get it off, then saw this post.

I do not know the reason the other people that posted had this happen. But I only see the mouse pointer when I use the sdl12 Video driver for playstation games. Using this driver, with the enhanced resolution and interlacing options from the Quick Menu, make Gran Turismo look amazing.

The mouse is actually present on the output for everyones display who uses this video driver. I couldn't see it before I shrunk the values of the top/bottom/left/right for the overscan in the config.txt file.

Lakka has an option to turn the mouse on or off. I don't know, but maybe it is the same option being enabled in retroarch running the pcsx-rearmed core for RetroPie.

Out of the box, no. But with such a cool case, and some effort, everything is possible!
The best approach would depend on the hardware you find inside.

If you could 'read' the state of each of the seven buttons, you can use the GPIO pins to read out the current state, and hook up a script to act on that.
Depending on your coding skills, you could brew up your own EmulationStation to accept specific system.cfg files, depending on what button is pressed, and killing it when a state-change is detected.

On the other hand, it might be much easier to forego the latching buttons, and replace them with momentary pushbuttons. You will loose some retro-style points, but there will be much less work to do on the coding front.

I haven't tested it, but apparently if you use the command
sudo apt-get install ntfs-3g
it'll install NTFS read/write support onto the Pi.

That said, I think this is already included in RetroPie, as my NTFS formatted 32GB USB drive is read fine by RetroPie.

I'd format the SD card to NTFS, add the RetroPie folder to it, plug it into the Pi, and see if the Pi populates the folder. If it doesn't try that command to install NTFS support.

That's my only guess too but I don't know enough about that specific issue

I think it would be useful to note that the menu plays noises perfectly and the video goes extremely smooth.
