RetroResolution. I switched to running Linux Mint mainly because Ubuntu kept crashing.

BuZz, I read the posts and figured out that I have to press the A button to run Duke Nukem. BTW I am running Retropie on a VM with Linux Mint.

@axis_d Most people will recommend a Logitech F710 or an 8bitdo model. I think those are a great choice.
I really dont like using an Xbox or PS3 type controller, not least due to the quirks of connection issues they can have.

Use the .078 Mame set.

It is the Please no links to sites that host copyright roms site.
Some kind soul put all the parent pieces into the child ones to make a great set.

@WadeBrody It means a PC as opposed to a single board computer like a Pi. x86 referring to the 8086 processors introduced by Intel years ago.

thats correct. Im not too sure about the SNES Emu. Im using the default.
And yes, im not able to exit the SNES emu.
Ive tried it with PS1/NES/etc. all are working fine but SNES.

To leave the Emulater/Game i have to reset the pi.

If needed ill be checking for the emulator of course!

I've just got everything working again from a fresh RetroPie 4 image. I've no idea why the fba games didn't run before but all I did differently this time was not copy the contents of my fba config file as mentioned above. That probably was the cause.

Thank you. I wasn't aware of Sselphs scraper until now and just used the built-in ones which...weren't great.

In any case, I think I feel confident enough to be able to maintain my tweaks when setting up a new retropie image. Thanks to you both.

2U is a common fake clone controller. It sounds like the Shanwan PS3 clone controller, they do the same thing.

If the controller has PS3-like wireless, you can set it up using the setup script. Try the Shanwan option in the PS3 controller menu.

If the controller does not have wireless, open it with a screwdriver and disconnect the vibration motor.

You might have to just buy a better controller. Sometimes cheap stuff works OK (like those $5 SNES controllers) but evidently not this time.

Just make sure you're running authentic MSX1/2 BIOS files, as the included BIOS doesn't support disks and tapes.

Buzz once again you were right. Changed the bloody Kingston with a SanDisk and workd like a charm

@k0st1x delete what is in your /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/ and configure the joysticks in emulationstation again.

okay, so i went inside and removed the USB hub and tried running straight to the adapter to the zero and still get the same issue. Controller vibrates and no lights.

if you use the arcade folder i think it's either in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2003/cfg/ or /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2003/nvram/ - probably the former if it was set via the MAME ui.

but, to avoid doubt i would back up everything in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2003/, as you probably want the stuff in the other folders anyway.
