    I figured it out.

Problem was I followed a tutorial somewhere that said to make a folder called retropie whereas the official instructions state to make a folder called retropie-mount.

"retropie" will in fact copy everything to the HDD, but it will also copy from the HDD to the SD.

"retropie-mount" seems to copy everything from the SD to the HDD but will not copy everything back to the SD.

"retropie-mount" is sufficient to mount the HDD and play games. I did not need to follow all the steps to manually mount the HDD as mine is going to be portable.

@NINJAcupcake798 drastic is not open source so there is currently no chance of a libretro version. However the main dev for drastic posted something recently that he would be open sourcing drastic after the new year so there is some hope that there may be in the future.

I'm still using AdvanceMame, but have lr-mess compiled so will probably give that a go with the BBC Micro B and with the Electron, which I haven't had a go at emulating yet.

I had another look at the stardot forum again. Still no one working on a Linux or Raspberry Pi variant of Beebem or of any other BBC emulator unfortunately. All the current emulation is in relation to MacOS or Windows.

With emulating the Acorn Archimedes, I've seen somewhere on the web that it can be done using a Raspberry Pi, but as it is based on RiscOS, Retropie is a no go.

You're probably usining a clone and not a genuine sony controller, i had the same behaviour with one of mines (bought off ebay...). it turns out it's either a gasia or a shanwan chinese ripoff.

You might find some useful infos in here https://raspberryblog.de/?p=1870&cpage=2

    This is now solved.

@nujm mentioned in in GitHub that he didn't update correctly before, but once he sorted it out, all worked fine:

well., I made this work. When I updated the retropie script, the console told me there were some modifications without committing, probably some updates made this changes because I didn´t do nothing at all. So basically I reverted those modifications and now it is working fine.

Thanks guys for your time and support, much appreciate it.

    Thanks for your efforts, @psyke83

Unfortunately, the fix suggestion that you provided didn't work in this situation. I have seen people online saying that they have used "alternative ps3 drivers" but not sure what these are or where they are to be found. Any other suggestions?

    @stoney66

    From first command:

    pi@retropie:~ $ ls -l "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/snes/Chrono Trigger .smc" -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 4194816 May 19 1997 /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/snes/Chrono Trigger .smc

And after typping second one I see that the file is there:

    -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 4194816 May 19 1997 Chrono Trigger .smc

Half of the games stopped working after I've installed the newer (4.5.1) version of RetroPie. On previous one (4.4) everything worked fine (even with space between name and file extension). I bought another Chrono Trigger rom and it's working.

It was the bloody power source! I didn't bother hooking it up to a decent power brick because I figured the Pi zero didn't need as much juice as my Pi 3... Idiot... Thanks for your inputs guys.

@rogerdodger said in Configuring xboxdrv with Xin-Mo 2 player controller:

Perhaps true 4 way controls can only be achieved mechanically, I have limited knowledge of Arcade stuff.

i belive this is the only way ...

as i suggested earlier, it is possible to physically switch from 4 to 8way by loosen the screw on the bottum, but if you want something that can switch automaticly i would suggest something like the ultimarc servostik perhaps, alltho those are quite a lot more expensive than the zippy joysticks (especially if you want 2).

This guy here had the same problem and he found a way of making it work.
Apparently the way to go is to configure retroarch to use a standard keyboard then swapping the real keyboard to the ipac.

Thanks for the follow up. However, I'm slightly confused by what you're saying here. It should probably be noted, I'm on a desktop making all this work at present, not a RetroPie (will set that up later, once design stuff is done). So I'm using SkraperUI_Beta8 to do my art scraping on my desktop. It scrapes my collection fresh and assigns the folder/meta data as needed. The problem seems not from the XML, but how the theme handles the labels? Does that make sense?

@nielogiczny Makes sense! I had to do that with the 8-bitdo SNES Bluetooth controller. The setup script had it as an option. Before that, only one or 2 of the key presses would do anything, and it registered as a keyboard when it did.

    Glad you got it working!

@cyperghost I am curious what line you read in the OP's text that leads you to believe that. He said '40GB of custom games/settings', but I think he means that he has put a lot of work into his current setup and wants to fix it without starting all over again.
