      6 player X-Men! Amazing. So is this version available if I build from Source?

      Yes, i don't know if retropie updated its binaries since those improvements.

      I am looking at X-Men 6 Player now.

      I haven't plugged in 6 controllers yet, but my RetroArch settings only show up to "Port 5 Controls". Would it work with 6 players, or does the fact I can only configure up to 5 mean that is the limit?

      Yep, that works! I just need to find all my controllers now and then I'll give 6 player a try!

      Thank you.

      @bollwerk said in How to configure both analog stick and d-pad for retroarch arcade config?:

      I assume the Arduino config (or any joypad input config) overrides the retroarch.cfg in some way?

      Your configuration in retroarch.cfg - as it is right now - configures a keyboard.

      input_player1_r = "w"

      When configuring a gamepad, the syntax is different:

      input_player1_r_btn = "12"

      RetroArch will load - indeed - the configuration from the autoconfig sub-folder if it finds one. The gamepad's auto-configuration file was generated by EmulationStation when you configured the gamepad in the Input Configuration step.

      I find it easier to open up the RetroArch's menu (via Hotkey + X) and use the Controls menu to change things, test them and then save it with a Core input configuration remap.

      For more details, see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/.

      Im sorry people. Look, I'm new to this forum and I hadn't read the rules set by the moderator. Also, I used to make my own images until I realized how much time I was wasting so now I use a 3rd part image. I still edit it and add roms and emulators but not adding everything. Let's just say I enjoy playing the games and not hunting down various roms and bios and editing random config files. Im only 16 and I have better ways to waste my time.

      There are no better ways of wasting time, take that back!

      I’ve built a retropi and I’m using an image from Arcade Punks that I really like

      As mentioned in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first, we don't support 3rd party images. Ask the author(s) of the image for guidance or use the image from retropie.org.uk/download if you wish to get support here in the forums.

      @cmdcolin Select is mapped by default to 'Coin Insert' in arcade emulators. Without it, you wouldn't be able to start a game.

      What I have to modify to have a better resolution?

      Resolution is fixed, you can't change it. The only thing you can do is apply filters, which is exactly what your first screenshot is about : there is a blurry effect on it. It's probably retroarch's bilinear filtering, you can find it in retroarch menu : Setting > Video > Bilinear Filtering. Well, i think that blurry effect is horrible tbh, it feels like i need glasses, but i guess everyone has their own tastes.

      @windg Yeah, sorry for my rudeness. I dropped the thing and I feel better now :)
      I'm just a little bit annoyed that retropie is the only versatile tool there is to do as much as I want (which is configure everything) but that its soooooo unorganized (it reminds me of Blender ah ah, wonderfull tool too but too messy for my taste)

      I stopped trying to configure retropie, I'm tired to have to search in the doc for every little thing because nothing make sense. Even the folder tree is a nightmare -_-.

      Well sorry again, I won't polute this forum any longer. Cheers.

      Just for another subjective opinion, I'm content with MAME 2003-Plus (in arcade) and FB Neo (in fba) next to each other and see no need to change that after moving to a Pi 4.

      For more recent MAME versions, I have my bigger computers. But I didn't feel the need for that for over two years now.

      This worked well. :)

      I commented out the back button mapping in es_input.cfg.
      I used Notepadd++ to inject <kidgame>true</kidgame> on the line just before </game> for each entry in the gamelist.xml.
      I set ES to start in the arcade system.
      I set ES UI Mode to Kid.

      The only buttons that now work are Launch (A), Random (X), Page Up (L) and Page Down (R). Connecting a keyboard (already mapped) or exiting Kid mode gives me full UI control again.

      This is the solution I have been looking for all along! :)

      Thank you. Setting it in the TAB menu seems to work for Mame. Of the FBNeo games I tried, they don't seem to care where the credit comes from, as long as there is a credit to spare, either P1 or P2 can use it. I will keep testing.

      Much appreciate your help.
