While I am by far no expert with Bluetooth, I think you need to set the hciconfig class.

man hciconfig states this for class:

class [class] With no class, prints class of device. Otherwise, sets class of device to class. class is a 24-bit hex number describing the class of device, as specified in section 1.2 of the Bluetooth Assigned Numers document.

You can find this at hciconfig (1) - Linux Man Pages

I found a list of classes at BlueTooth's Baseband page.

In Table 9: The Peripheral Major Class keyboard/pointing device field it uses this bit config

      5 4 3 2 Minor Device Class bit no. of CoD 0 0 0 1 Joystick 0 0 1 0 Gamepad

And Minor Device Class field - Toy Major Class has this:

      7 6 5 4 3 2 Minor Device Class bit no. of CoD 0 0 0 1 0 0 Controller 0 0 0 1 0 1 Game

If this helps, here is how I get BlueTooth information from a connected device:

      pi@lucaspi:~ $ hcitool con Connections: > ACL **00:26:43:66:A8:74** handle 11 state 1 lm SLAVE pi@lucaspi:~ $ hcitool info **00:26:43:66:A8:74** Requesting information ... BD Address: 00:26:43:66:A8:74 OUI Company: Alps Electric Co., Ltd (00-26-43) Device Name: PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller LMP Version: 2.0 (0x3) LMP Subversion: 0x131f Manufacturer: Cambridge Silicon Radio (10) Features: 0xfc 0x07 0x82 0x7e 0x08 0x18 0x00 0x80 <encryption> <slot offset> <timing accuracy> <role switch> <hold mode> <sniff mode> <park state> <RSSI> <channel quality> <paging scheme> <broadcast encrypt> <EDR ACL 2 Mbps> <EDR ACL 3 Mbps> <enhanced iscan> <interlaced iscan> <interlaced pscan> <inquiry with RSSI> <AFH cap. slave> <AFH cap. master> <AFH class. master> <extended features>

Try connecting your pi 0 to your other pi/debian system and see what info is different.

Lastly, maybe check out Bluetooth CoD: Bluetooth Class of Device/Class of Service Explained for information on CoD info. I will be reading this as well for one of my projects, so I might be able to provide more info.

Thank you @ArcadeTV I will be giving this a try. I'd love to hear if you noticed any slowdown or any recommendations as to which filter worked best.

Also, is it possible to download latest ScummVM from source, maybe by changing branch to "master" or something of the sort. A lot of games compatability status had been upgraded since 2.0.0

Comcast could be performing network management techniques, such as network traffic shaping or even sending out RST packets.

I'd have to perform a network packet inspection using Wireshark and then contact Comcast Technical Support and AWS to see if they can determine the reason's why a download from s3.amazonaws.com would eventually fail.

But, I did use a VPN service and didn't have any issues downloading it.

@futurity Just bear in mind it is built on Raspbian Jessie. RetroPie will not run on Stretch or you will get failed / missing dependencies.

There are plenty of games with notes for Pi2 and no notes for Pi3. Generally means they suffer from the same issues.

Ok I think I finally fixed it to the point where it doesn't make me angry. I decided to try someone else's config.txt as mine was cursed or something :P I went here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6hdpa7893c3ked1/AABCXqUHjXI-C3PUdcq4f8jya?dl=0 and downloaded the "custom_res" config. I renamed it to "config.txt", changed the resolution to 320x240, and added some custom overscan numbers. The lines are still there, but they don't affect the text and only appear on a black screen. I'm sure I could go further and 100% fix it but right now I'm happy. Whew!

@Andrewdodo123 Please do not post a support request without first reading and following the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first (as you agreed when registering on the forum).

Please use a descriptive title - rather than "Help needed". Also do not bump posts - wait patiently for a reply.

Perhaps you have a bad Sdcard or you have written the image incorrectly.

The USB port on the Wii U pro controller is just a charging port and doesn't do data. If you want to connect to the Pi via bluetooth you'll have to go into the bluetooth settings of the RetroPie. While you can get this to work, I highly suggest you get a PC wireless controller adapter. I tried hooking my Wii U controller to the Pi's bluetooth and it worked at first. But very soon I started experiencing ghosting to the point I couldn't even play the games. Using the adapter, I synced it very easily to my controller and Emulation Station recognized the controller very easily.
