@SpudsMcToole - I believe it should be there even on older versions. I don't mind giving you hand if it helps. As of late I have a little extra time due heterogeneous world events.

On your ES carousel there should be a stylized RetroPie logo as one of the selectable systems. Basically the same as selecting an emulator/core.

Then select RetroPie Setup -> Update RetroPie-Setup script. This should update your script to the current version.

Then select Manage packages -> Manage Core Packages.

Under Manage Core Packages select Emulationstation (Installed). From there you have the options to Udpate From Binary or Update From Source.

The wording might be slightly different and I left out the number options as they do seem to change occasionally but it should be generally the correct steps to get ES updated.

Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
The save file is done by RetroArch, which I haven't heard or see to work that (doesn't matter the which core is used).

@wmarcio my apologies, I only included the specific images to be as precise as possible, if I deleted the post and reposted without reference to those specific images would that be more appropriate?

It's not about appropriate; it's about the fact that those are not official RetroPie products. They are repackaged with with copyrighted material and violate the user license. Unless you are trying to install an official image, you won't get help here.

I played the game again, the game started brand new all over again.

If you press Start, you should have the option to Continue a previous save.

Is there anyway to save game on the emulator while playing Pokemon Crystal?

Yes, use the game's menu (Start button) to save your progress.

@mitu Meanwhile every second posting is related to this "in da houz" images.

Well after a few days of searching files and experimenting on the pi, I think I've got this figured out.

      What else could I say?

Ok, half a day later, I realize one (perhaps small) problem concerning the Pi4 project. As I am going to build two Arcade Machines together with a friend of mine, I had to setup RetroPie twice. One on a Pi3b+ and one on my Pi4. Testing with the old "Hyper Sports" on mame2003, I realize a perfect behavior on the 3b+ but a small delay on the Pi4. So pushing the button and taking effect differences a little bit (made me miss the skeets on skeet-shooting ;-) ). Do you have any idea why this is and - much more important for me - how to solve this problem?

      Best regards,

      Rufus

I am using Skyscrapper for pics and Steven Selph's scrapper for videos (as I couldn't login in Screenscraper, now I know how thanks to this thread!). My pics and metadata are ok but my videos are just sound and a blackscreen, any idea what's wrong? I'm on a Pi 3B + retropie 2.7.1, OMX player is on.

      @strohseph

I did the copy and paste from your entire list for the libretro cores.

It's kind of making a confusing mess of all things.

Is there a simple way to remove all of those symlinks?

I can use either PuTTy or WinSCP.

If by flash driver you mean an USB based drive, then yes. You can store your roms on a separate flash drive (as shown here) or you can install your entire OS on a flash drive - as detailed here, though you'll still need a sdcard to program the Pi first and this method is not yet supported on the new Pi4 model.

@Retroboii said in [HELP] After Retropie Update I cannot login:

they dont say what type of file it needs to be (txt, DTB ?)

How about no type ? You can create a file with no extension or you can add a .txt extension to the file (ssh.txt).
