      @udubnate If you want good quality components out of the box then I'd recommend the Hori real arcade pro 4.

      Could anyone advise on what image options I should consider?

      The image from retropie.org.uk/download or the lite version of Raspbian, upon which you can install RetroPie.

      @mitu Thanks a lot.

      This saves me a lot of time, preparing an rsync just for those folders and ignoring entirely /usr, /bin, etc.

      I also noticed the existence of /home/pi/.emulationstation that includes stuff like the "scraped" game images, but I found it to be a link to /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation .

      I also noticed that the .state files are stored inside the "roms" folders, in the same subfolder than the rom itself.

      Thanks and best regards.

      I know this is an old post but it's the only one I can find that has a similar issue especially with SNES. I'm assuming it has to do with I have donkey Kong rev a and the the image for the bezel doesn't have that name

      @mitu I figured it out.
      Also, do the psp eboot games run slower than the normal bin and cue format? Parasite Eve II runs really slow, A lot of lag on the psp .pbp eboot.

      @ledow I completely agree. All of my AV cables are AmazonBasics. I just got six HDMI for like $12

      correction They were $10 for three cables @ 3ft and I bought six. I'm to trying to slowly consolidate my living room and bedroom rat nests so I'm rewiring everything with shorter cables. On a sidenote, it's going to be really fun to rewire the network, but I'll get to install that switch finally, so yay for that!

      Not to my knowledge (and certainly not here at the moment).
      If you're having trouble reading and speaking in English - so the documentation and the forum seem hard to use - then I can recommend using Recalbox - which is a similar project and has both support for French in the user interface and in the forums/docs.

      @hallda12 What I think it might happen is that the triggers are actually registered as analog axes instead of just button presses. The xpad driver has a parameter for this (triggers_to_buttons) which is always on in the RetroPie installations and disables this behavior. It doesn't seem that xpadneo has a similar parameter - or it behaves differently.
      You can try and running jstest /dev/input/js0 from the command line and see how the trigger appear - button presses or axis movement.

      You could also look into the new(ish) run ahead feature. It helps to eliminate input lag and from what I understand works very well on early system emulators. https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/17438/new-emulation-method-to-eliminate-input-lag

      @mitu I see. I understand. Thank you for the help. I will see if i can find an alternative to NESPi case. Well, the biggest reason i got it was because of the Safe Shutdown script. Pressing a button to turn off the console is neat, so i can prevent any corruptions to the SD Card.

      @Xenos I'm using an USB SSD for my roms. It makes it very easy to just unplug it and plug it into my desktop pc to manage roms or images/videos, especially if moving many or big files around, which tends to be very slow over my WLAN connection to the Pi in my DIY upright arcade cabinet.

      One of the heavier building sites is mame2003-plus, a fork of Retropie's standard emulator for arcade games. You can view its own Changelog here. More recent improvements are discussed in its forum thread.

      Well I tried running sudo ./RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.shand I tried to scrape using all of the websites but it kept showing data not found. I tried every single website and it kept saying data not found. Nothing was scraped even after I tried twice.

      I still don't understand whats wrong. It keeps failing no matter what.
