That took a little longer than expected (my best time is 7 hours)

All 100 slimes rescued. All tank upgrades except 2. 10,277 gold. 0 deaths and 0 tank battle losses. All health upgrades. 48 items collected, 17 monsters, 34 recipes.

    Total time: 9:45:41

I loved this game when I first played it, and still do today (8 playthroughs later). Funny dialogue and characters. The story is somewhat forgettable and the music is subpar, but still fun to listen to. Collecting all the slimes only gets you a special secret item and nothing more. The tank battles are also fun, but stupidly easy if you have the right ammo (most fights end up being 5-10 min.)

After the credits roll, you really don't have much incentive to play unless you want to collect everything and do the optional tank arena fights. You only need somewhere around 50 slimes to beat the game.

Since this game I picked because it's a favorite of mine, I'm probably the only one to play it (ala Mario 64 from this time last year) /s

  • Is Retropie on PC still 32bit?

@BuZz Thank you very much for the reply. I figured it would work as 32bit software generally works in a 64bit environment. I guess I was really just posting because I wanted to know of there were any particular omissions.

However, I needn't have worried. I installed ububtu and retropie on my NUC today. With the instructions on the Retropie site it couldn't have been easier. I am extremely pleased with the result. The increased power let's me use run ahead and disable video threading. I still love my Pi's though, and they will definitely see use.

I ordered two innext snes pads for $8 total and they just arrived. They feel "ok" for the price. The d-pad itself is acceptable but still has the same problems as 8bitdo but to a lesser degree. The 4 front buttons are a bit taller and can be flimsy. Select/Start rubber feels very cheap. L button feels mushy. Overall, they're usable.

I went ahead and replaced the shell, buttons, and rubber pads with real sfc pad parts I wasn't using. I had to solder the original L/R pcb's because the innext one don't fit. It's just two wires per button so it wasn't a big deal. The innext ones can be glued on but I don't know how long they'll stay in place.

Feels very good now with the original parts. Used original SFC pads can be bought for ~$10-12US on ebay. Original SNES pads are more expensive due to this retrocraze at the moment.

@buzz Didn't know it was a known problem. For what it's worth, whenever I will see some, I will report them.

@herb_fargus Changed the links to httpx. Yeah, don't want them to get any more clicks - thanks for the tip.

Thank you for the replies everyone. I am probably going to go for the two port Mayflash adapter. The Raphnet stuff does look higher quality to be sure, but it's also double the price and on back order.

You can find such [number of games]-in-one cabinets even on "respectable" (cough) platforms like Ebay and Amazon, whereas I seriously doubt that the seller acquired all of the neccessary [number of games] licenses for distribution.

It would depend on if there were a driver for the wireless dongle they are using. Perhaps try to e-mail them to ask what chip they use. But if there is a driver, should work fine.

Occasionally, we may send emails to your registered email address in order to provide updates and/or to notify you of new activity that is pertinent to you. You can customise the frequency of the community digest (including disabling it outright), as well as select which types of notifications to receive via email, via your user settings page. Unless explicitly changed in your user settings.

If you mean this, it's referring to emails about the forum etc. And how you receive notifications. Nothing more

    EDIT: 10/5/18

I added the respective year to each of the post titles. Seeing as we are 1 year in, figured I'd have some way to distinguish between years.

@fnkngrv Yes, the arm dynarec got fixed, and multi-thread implemented (you need to toggle it through core options though), however i think you talk about the non-OIT version ? Also, i know some games needs more ressources.

Btw, I didn't make it to the end, but at least it was a little "time travel" and worth the time.

I found someone I can borrow one from. If it does work, It will give me 26 buttons to use with Amiberry (It uses your Retroarch HotKey button as a 'shift' for a 2nd button set). That SHOULD be enough. :P
