@daixtrose well it does say Hold down any button on your keyboard or gamepad

Though the heading implies controllers (as the majority of people using retropie use controllers) I could make it more agnostic by calling it configure controls anyways I'll have a think on it.

    Appreciate the feedback

@elgarlic Yeah, it's a minor bug. Turning it off just disables the frame counter but it remains on screen. See my other comment about the devs priorities for the Pi version of DraStic.

@crono141 No worries. Had a quick look at your set-up and it's complicated alright... I hope you enjoy troubleshooting!

@edmaul69 Sweet, I was looking for something like this before. After some testing I have noticed something. When turning on the Pi or rebooting it with cables plugged in for different controllers, I can have them set in their respective ports 0,1,2 etc and my PS3 controller will not become JS0 it will become whatever light is shown on the PS3 controller i.e. JS1 it will be player 1 on the controller light.

If I reboot and unplug every wire so the USB ports are empty and connect it to blue tooth as it's booting, my controller blinks for a bit then stops and shows no lights. I've had this happen before on macs and the controller still works even though it's not indicating a "player." When the controller is like this it is JS0.

So it appears that if you want your PS3 controller to be JS0 and not JS1-4 potentially, you need to connect it as it's booting through bluetooth with nothing else plugged in the USB ports.

And i think an Arduino Leonardo can emulate keyboard input...

@mortosaur for best image quality - try darkplaces quake (h/w accelerated 3d) or lr-tyrquake for libretro core version of the original

@Tibbetsni Look at the post above yours please - you need to open a new topic providing details of your setup - You may think the problem is the same, but it could be caused by completely different factors, and this topic is old.

Today I am very happy because I solved this issue. I just had to remove the case, plug in a new image, plug in the HDMI,and get the ip so I can configure it on my computer. Thank you all so much for helping me out.

    @rbaker

I don't see how he is breaking the rules here. He wasn't asking where to get roms. He wasn't posting roms. All he asked is if it's possible alternate roms might work in his case when the one he has isn't playing. That's a reasonable question any newbie would ask and it isn't breaking any rules.

@marc.knuckle try getting multiple roms to test. Also put the bios zip in with the roms in the roms folder. (Just in case its looking for it there) Because the mame/fba roms get updated some of the roms might not be compatible if you dont have the correct version of rom with the version of fba/mame that is on the pi. So testing only one rom does you no good.

Turns out it still doesn't work ! :(

I thought it did since I used the alternate line AFTER I changed the shader using the Retroarch GUI. Now even if I delete the new line or change it, no change to the shader :(

Somehow, changing the shader through the Retroarch GUI does it, whatever is in the retroarch.cfg file.

Now what I'm thinking, could it be something to do with file permissions ? That shader line, does it tell the system to change another file properties and maybe it isn't able to do it because of file permission ?

I am thinking about this since I see other posts about file permission issues, requiring to do something like :

    Sudo chown pi:pi /opt/retropie/configs/

Could that help ??? At work right now...

Try integer scaling in the retroarch menu (select-x).

So I found out that the problem was with automount. I umount my drive and mount it again but this time in /mnt folder. I shared that folder an transfer 25gb data on external storange. Then i reboot Raspberry pie and now nothing is working. Retropie boot in Shell and i can access it through SSH. After a reboot it displays shell and says: "A start job is running for dev-sdc1.device (time)". dev/sdc1 was my External HD. I needed to delete automount command from /etc/fstab in order to boot it.

@BuZz said in RetroArch (Pi) Save Slot Issue (always #0):

@zoop see my post above. You can't update automatically to include that fix currently. You need to wait until I update retroarch, eg for v1.4.2 - the module doesn't build the bleeding edge code anymore. I got fed up fixing things over and over again.

Yeah, sounds like a reasonable approach. Thanks for the update. I will eagerly anticipate 1.4.2 :)
