@edmaul69 Nope no mausberry, I'm pretty comfortable just going through the menu. I would really like to, someday, figure out a way to plug in the power supply, and have a functioning switch to power on/off via the on/off switch on the Sega USB hub. It functions side to side but it's just for show, along with the vertical volume knob. I would like to plug in, switch it on, and it boot up, then switch off, and shutdown the system properly as if I went through the menu somehow. This one guy said he was able to accomplish this using python script, and I believe the switch wired into the GPIO. I'm not familiar with python or how I'd even go about configuring that, but I'm sure it's possible. Just need the know-how. That would be pretty sweet to just us the on/off switch like an actual Genesis console.

Also note that you will definitely, like no ifs ands of butts NEED a wireed controller (or at least a keyboard) to re-connect your Bluetooth controller when it looses signal. Which in my experience is pretty friggin often (not like constantly, but at lease once every other day...if not several times in a day if I'm playing a lot and rebooting a lot and such).

This is why I recommend Xbox 360 wireless controllers with the USB adapter that's half the size of the Pi 3. It simply works 99.9% of the time. It's a dedicated receiver so it doens't have to deal with the limitations of Bluetooth even if it's using pretty much the same ghz band.

Yeah maybe a bad SD card, but scandisk ones work well for me on the pi3.

I've been Reading about this, and well, I don't have problems with my favourite games speed but yes I do have one single thing that bugs me and it's about Double Dragon 1. The game speed seems ok but the sound pitch is a Little higher than the original and sometimes sfx's sound really way too different from they actually are. Would this Hz thing fix that too?

@BuZz I'll check, but I believe they are under arcade..anything else it may be?

One other question. Is there any way to leave it as is if they are in the wrong folder, but get Lrmame2003 and lrmame2010 to show up when selecting A on loading? Maybe a config file or something?

yep came with the retropie installed no games though. I will install the version in the link you sent. thanks for your help.

@lurkout performance / familiarity. We don't use retroarch as a frontend, so there is less need for xmb. I'm quite happy leaving it with the boring old gui for now anyway - but users can switch if they want.

Just use the default nds emulator from the experimental section and tone the resoulution down to as close to native as you can, native resolution for ds is 256x192. Got advance wars ds working smooth with minimal grafical errors when started with default settings it wouldn't run without lagging.

It sounds like to me that EmulationStation is trying to display in a resolution that your livingroom TV doesn't support. Most of the emulators use lower resolutions so that's probably why they display okay.

Interestingly enough, it seems retroarch.cfg does not exist in my system and that may be what's causing the issue 0_o

I'm gonna try resetting to defaults and see what happens! Thanks!

@messo you would need a savegame from residualvm not from the PC version of Grim Fandango.

This is great advice in general. But as Xyb0t said, he should not have ended up with a .7z file. It seems he just used 7zip to further compress his image instead of extracting it. Still, following the guide closely and carefully should set that straight.

@ltpaulieb you will only have a es_systems.cfg in /opt/retropie/emulationstation/configurations/all/ if you have copied it there yourself. It overrides the RetroPie managed one. If you want RetroPie to manage the systems, you should remove it (or manually keep it up to date).
