@psw757 If you want to bypass the desktop, you can install the standalone version of Chromium from the RetroPie Extra Repository. Once it's installed, you can edit the chromium.sh script so that the last line reads:

/usr/bin/chromium-browser iscored.info

One thing I learned is the retropie setup on Linux creates partitions on the sd card and Windows cannot see them.

If you wanted to format your card back to a format Windows can see (which would be the 16gb)

lol thanks i reinstalled the thing cause i thought if i removed the configs for the emulators that would do it and obviously it didn't. I'll give that a go if I have the issue again I hope that won't give me the same issues.

@blairmac The official Docs have sections about transferring ROMs to and from Retropie:

Transferring Roms Running ROMs from a USB drive (section Manual Mount -> Transfer the existing RetroPie file structure)

Most of this should also apply to your custom build if it is similar enough to the original Retropie, but that's as far as support goes here for custom builds.

@cdm624 @vinni230 If you have access to a Linux system with Internet access, e.g. another Retropie, you could use wget to download the file.

wget https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/releases/download/4.3/retropie-4.3-rpi2_rpi3.img.gz

wget should report any problems it encounters. You could post them here in a codeblock for further inspection.

However, I suspect provider issues as well. I can download the file without problems.

@guruchoc I installed Xarcade2Jstick via the retropie menu, that seemed to do the trick, I can play Bubble Bobble to my hearts content, thanks for the help.
