but yes, -chdir is the correct option (which we use when launching normally).

Also that file should not be customised - for user launch stuff /opt/retropie/configs/all/autostart.sh should be used.

@phil123456 If you have updated with retropie-setup you should no longer have a 10-emulationstation.sh file (as herb has mentioned it will be 10-retropie.sh)

@rbaker Sorry for the late reply, it works fine in Emulationstation, in the menus and other emulators.

An update........

I've made sure that the default N64 emulator is libretro. Also, in the Retroarch menu.... the mame overlays/ bezels are clearly downloaded and in the system.

Any advice?

I'm not sure if bumping is allowed after a day of no replies when it says "No bumping" but I still have this problem and haven't fixed it and help would really really be appreciated unless no one knows how to fix it :P

i tried to put hiscore.dat in to hsb dir... too..

how you can see today is 15 January... files are at 12 January 2017
if i try to load a title... mame not loads hiscore... and not save it

@munkylord84 When you say "already built" do you mean you bought a pre-installed RetroPie bundle, or a friend built it for you?

I am asking as in order to troubleshoot the community needs to know details of how it has been setup initially. If a friend has built it, you'd need to ask them so you can pass on the details. If you bought it however, I doubt you'll get much help here as these types of packages are flying in the face of the Devs here making money off the back of their hard work.

You'll be directed to reinstall the official image off the site before we'd help in that instance.

Also, for N64 you'll need to overclock and tweak settings for best results, and there's great documentation on this in the wiki.

@bt with retropie once you have everything set up how you like you dont have to mess with anything. On the user side it is truly the friendliest setup.

I am not sure if you got it figured out but I was having the same problem and what I ended up doing was not using brackets or quotes for the memory card file location. I also had to make sure that -loadbin was the last command before "%ROM_RAW%" or I got an error saying it couldn't load a .exe.

It should look like this:

<command>C:/Users/Emulator/.emulationstation/systems/Playstation/ePSXe.exe -nogui -slowboot -analog -loadmemc0 C:/Users/Emulator/.emulationstation/systems/Playstation/memcards/epsxe000.mcr -loadbin "%ROM_RAW%"</command>

I'm having a similar issue at the moment. I've been trying for some time to get Joust working (it's my all-time favorite video game on any platform!). I just recently figured out how to reset the game to get it to actually start up, but now I can only control it via the keyboard. My 8bitdo SNES30 controllers don't seem to register any button presses, but they work fine for all other MAME games. The behavior seems to be the same for lr-mame2003 and mame4all. Any ideas? I'm on the same hardware and software versions as the OP.

wanted to add that when I launch the file-manager I am taken to the boot up screen with all the green ok's.
