@dcaputi From the distance I assume it is a known issue with the firmware of the Xin-Mo. See here for a workaround: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Xin-Mo-Controller/

      @Jiryn
i am using the awesome lr-FBNEO Emulator, which is installed by default, for NEOGEO and most of the arcade-roms.
As a second option i use lr-MAME (current) for those few roms, that FBNEO does not support and i wish to have.

The DIP-Switches can be accessed by a Key-Combo that you can define in Retroarch/Core-Options.
AFAIR this option is called "diagnostic key" and the default input is "holding START-Button" (during gameplay/rom running).

Retroachievements are the cream on the cake imo!
Similar to Playstation-Trophys or XBOX-Achievements, just better (great widgets, leaderboards for all kind of stuff...)
Concerning Arcade-Achievements: only lr-FBNEO is supported, another point for this masterpiece.
As far as you want to play for achievements: keep your fingers away from the DIP-Switches as only default settings are supported (which is more than fair)
Fo further information just have a look here:

Sorry I missed that. Anyway, here's my old Setup.

Please add the info for the current setup.

EDIT: and add the installation info - how did you install and what image did you use to install RetroPie.

@Orionsangel Nothing has changed between the answers/solutions given above - you have the same options as before. You can choose to start in the Last Played collection, so you can go back to your last played game if you wish.
I'm not sure whether you're using Retropie - and its fork of EmulationStation - or some other distribution that includes EmulationStation (or perhaps ES-DE). Other forks may have other options, but as far as RetroPie's fork is concerned, nothis is changed from the above.

      Please don't bump old topics.

You said it was dark grey, not colored.

No, I ment it has the same color as the background, it is dark grey.

Either way, if you have the RetroPie info shown when you exit EmulationStation, then it means the normal prompt should also be present and available.

If I exit EmulationStation it's just this screen, no cursor, it seems to me that it is loading, but just nothing happens then, even after 5 minutes.

@duglor you will have to dig around on the past commits to find a working one and manually drop it onto your system.

I know I have had a issue with that system for awhile now.

@Lolonois thanks, not sure how to ensure it delivers a constant voltage while writing... however I'm not planning to waste any more time on this matter.
The cards in question is a sandisk 512gb ordered from amazon that i had for years and worked fine in my switch. I got the write error in my arcade and i thought the card was done, so i ordered a new one form Amazon. That card didn't work either... Amazon was good enough to send a second card for free and that one also failed.
Who knows, maybe a voltage issue makes sense, but there's no indication of undervoltage on the machine itself.

      RetroPie Version: 4.10

There's no such version - which image did you use to install the system ?

Problem: When I try to launch "Super Mario Bros." on NES, the emulator starts but the game freezes immediately.

Does this happen for every NES game ? Which emulator are you using (it's printed in the Runcommand menu before the game starts) ? Which buttons are you using and what kind of controller do you have ?

Reading all many posts here, i still dont know how to get m,y CPS games to show up..

Please don't bump old topics. As to where to put the arcade games - the arcade folder, as you would have known if you'd have look in the documentation. And no, just pointing at the docs is not 'gatekeeping'.

Not really sure what it means - does it work if you disable the splashscreen ? What's the output from the command I posted - that may help understand why the splashscreen is stuck.

Not much luck with LR-PUAE. I've tried all the settings that I can think of but Gloom Deluxe runs slower than it does on Amiberry. The later 3D games may just be beyond the capabilities of the Zero2 at the moment.

@gmarler said in Black Screen When Starting ColecoVision Game Under lr-bluesmx:

Not sure how things got into this state, as the core_options_path simply disappeared from the /opt/retropie/configs/coleco/retroarch.cfg file when I updated to the latest RetroPie through retropie-setup as of 2025-04-07.

In a default RetroPie installation, that config file shouldn't contain much and core_options_path is only set by RetroPie in the global /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg. Any core option overrides (per-folder/game) will be saved elsewhere.

In the meantime, I was able to determine that my HDMI monitor also has a 3.5 mm jack that I never noticed before, so I can plug my headphones into that instead.

1.20 had some regressions which were fixed after the release. I was hoping they'd release a 1.20.1 to repair it, but that didn't happen. There's no other reason why 1.20 is not in RetroPie at the moment, I'm just waiting for a new release (with less regressions) to package it for RetroPie.

Very special case. But you can save the import part. However, some manual steps are required:

Copy the pq1-amiga.svm to the ~/RetroPie/roms/amiga/ folder.

Find the Amiga video (I guess you already did that).

      e.g, https://www.screenscraper.fr/gameinfos.php?gameid=34415&action=onglet&zone=gameinfosmedias

Navigate to the ROM/ISOs latch and pick a checksum and use it in the query parameter.

      Run Skyscraper -p amiga -d /tmp --flags videos -s screenscraper --query="md5=2c4827513db0e45eed77d20d290fa17d" ~/RetroPie/roms/amiga/pq1-amiga.svm.

Find the video for "Police Quest" from screenscraper in the scummvm Skyscraper DB file, usually ~/.skyscraper/cache/scummvm/db.xml (type="video" source="screenscraper" with the matching resource id for Policy Quest). Note the resource id.

Copy the amiga video into the scummvm cache, e.g.:

      cp /tmp/videos/screenscraper/494148112002ee474500cc10cbd212b1dedc5bd0.mp4 ~/.skyscraper/cache/scummvm/videos/<just-noted-resource-id>.mp4

It could be that the resource id is identical between Amiga and ScummVM, as the Skyscraper resource id is calculated from the filename and not from the file content for *.svm files. I did not verify this, but I assume it will be the case.
