      Oh, that's great. I didn't know that was the correct path for Vectrex overlays. Thanks!!!

      The 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ is a great choice for RetroPie, and it works both wired and wireless.

      @russs15 Thats the exact adaptor I got that never worked with retro pie properly for me. It might be an issue with a driver that changed higher up the chain that's not related to RetroPie itself but raspian, or even in the core linux kernel.

      Please use the libretro forum. This is a dedicated RetroPie forum and, while we use RetroArch, it's just on Linux/Raspberry Pi and not on Windows.

      Works, thanks :-)

      @dirkomatic said in Retroarch Config File for ROM Does Not Work:

      I figured it out from the documentation on overrides and saving game specific overrides. Specifically, going into the Quick Menu->Overrides->Save Game Specific Override after making the correct setting change.

      You added the edit before I saw the notification email and came here. I started re-reading the thread from scratch and, at first, didn't remember it, but then it started making sense to me. Yes, just what you said - the info was in the documentation, including in the link provided for help.

      @snock said in retroarch.cfg global and core.:

      So if the roms is executed, and automatically the retroarch.cfg of the specific system (turbografx cd) is modified and many configuration lines are added.

      That's because you've activated Save on Exit in RetroArch's RGUI for that system or maybe you've reset the configuration file from the RGUI - on exit, the simple retroarch.cfg for that system is overwritten by RetroArch.

      @mitu thanks at least I know I am not crazy!

      Yeah playing on a PC for lightgun games and lightgun support is wonky for other mame versions and for various reasons not wanting to do advance mame. I use mame-2003-plus and fb alpha on the pi.

      @Dj-EKI If you'd like that combo to open the menu, then open RetroArch from the RetroPie system in EmulationStation, set the option and then save your configuration.
      To leave a game, you'll have to use either a Hotkey + Start - which you don't want - or disable the Hotkey and choose another button for the exit hotkey. Pressing that button will automatically exit the game.

      @StigNasty said in Another total noob question:

      Two questions: 1. What does this mean? 2. How do I do this?

      It means you've been using a development branch of the RetroPie-Setup script and that branch (version) will be deleted, so you'll not be able to update in the future.

      From the command line, execute the following:

      cd $HOME/RetroPie-Setup git reset --hard git checkout master

      OR

      cd $HOME sudo rm -fr ./RetroPie-Setup git clone https://github.com/retropie/RetroPie-Setup

      @dankcushions

      Thanks for the response.

      Dumb of me. I already have many of the game specific RetroArch configs on MAME for overlays.

      In my personal experience, the per game core saves haven't worked for a while. This goes for my 3B+ and my 4B. Would you mind checking to see that it works? In my experience it defaults to whatever options I used in the core last, regardless of whether there is a game save. Remaps work for me, but core options haven't for some time.

      May be because my roms are all on a USB? Not sure.

      I just tried one and when I booted up the rom, it saved over my core settings with the last settings I used.

      mupen64plus-next-pak4 = "memory" --> mupen64plus-next-pak4 = "none"

      I've tried using PS1 (lr-pcsx-rearmed) roms as well depending on whether the speed hack and increased res options are viable/necessary or controller needs set to analog.

      Is this by chance something you (or someone else) would be willing to test quickly? Thanks.
