@mitu ok, it's a minor problem, if I click there and gets installed I just enter the menu again and hit remove samba components, you can close the topic if there's no easy fix :)

@steams71 I messed around with a few different cycles, it somewhat helps...but it just seems this game is on the cusp of the Pi's performance envelope. I found around 16,000 - 18,000 is the best it can do and not have audio issues.

I turned off all the fun caveats of the game and just run it as a clean ice, bare bones game.

I'm not thrilled...but I'm very happy to have it running and playable on my build.

      Thanks for the help!

@supercom32 said in Dosbox: Where are game specific configration saved?:

      Hi Everyone,

When you launch a game EXE and make changes to the keymap, or other settings at runtime, where exactly are these settings saved? Are game specific changes actually retained, or is everything reset back to default each time?

For that matter, Is there a way to add game specific configurations (Maybe a default file it searches for or something inside the game folder) without breaking the automatic mounting of folders and such?

This depends on which configurations you refer. The one from retropie/emulationstation or that one that you change in the game itself?

For the game changes itself I worked a lot on this to get a clean setup. I do this with the OverlayFS feature in Linux. This needs some fstab changes and common folder structure. But it would maybe fullfill your requirements. I planned to document it somewhere. If you're interested I would tell you some more details.

      regards
      Andreas

I should have set Retroarch.cfg to rotate 270 degrees.

I feel silly, but thanks in advance.

      Rampage also matters. (3 Players)
[I think the order was George/Lizzy/Ralph.]

They made sequels to Rampage. (After ten years) But they were basically the same gameplay with different characters.

The games you play should support a controller interface, most of them probably work with a keyboard and mouse and not exclusively with a controller.
There are generic gamepad-to-keyboard/mouse mappers, for Linux I know about antimicro, but the best solution is for the game to natively support a gamepad.

@xallius 3rd party images aren't supported on the forums, especially ones that come pre-loaded with game ROMS.

I'd suggest going back to the seller for support, or install the official image from the Retropie site and then the community will be able to assist you.

But yes, the odroid xu4 came installed with retropie and emulationstation.

We don't support systems sold with RetroPie/EmulationStation & roms. You can install RetroPie on Odroid XU4 as indicated here, this will get you the most recent version of RetroPie.

That's fantastic, thanks for the info! I had been searching for usb interfaces on the web, but hadn't seen one like this. I don't see why this wouldn't work. I'll give it a shot, and let everyone know.

@dankcushions well, I have edited a few more configs and its all working fine. There is an option for resetting permissions - which I thought may have been the solution - if it happens again, that's what I'd probably try - because once it created the file itself it seemed to me ok.

@scoularis said in What input lag reduction settings are you using on your Pi 4?:

For me if I used swapchain = 2 in conjuction with runahead, even with threaded video still left enabled, I'd get severe hitching in several games that I tried. Alien Soldier and Disney's Aladdin being the two that I tested that made it clear to me that I just had to leave runahead and swapchain at 3 for that core. Video threaded being disabled seems to be fine with those settings though.

Disney's Aladdin is an interesting rom (and nice to play :) ) - there seem to be 4 frames of internal latency in the game [edit: no, there is only 1], so the lowest latency working configuration that I had was to set threaded video on (the default), swapchains at 3 (the default), and use 4 frames of runahead (which I tested in single instance mode/second instance = no)
[Edit: It plays OK with 4 frames removed, but when I stepped through a frame at a time I can see that removes 3 frames of animation after the button press]

That's with a shader running (I'm trying zfast_crt_standard.glslp - thanks for the suggestion)

I haven't found any situation on a Pi4 where zfast_lcd_standard.glslp allows me to run anything that crt-pi didn't yet.

i just updated system and is on 5.10.11

If anyone uses bgm with livewire setup it seem update removes the python-pygame which is needed. (tested on another base and was ok)
So you need to reinstall manually
or use the install script to remove and re install BGM and missing package

If you use @mitu tweak in cmdline.txt
      snd-bcm2835.enable_compat_alsa=1
you can set audio so mixer can work to SYSDEFAULT or HW with PCM
if you dont use this and have new default setup
you use SYSDEFAULT or HW and HDMI

      NOTE
If you touched the retropie config section audio settings, go back and set to reset to default

@johnklos Sorry, my Edits of my previous Message collided with your answer...
But saying press (A) to continue would be IMHO missunderstandable in the same way by others [edit: by/of/from different background]... The only essential change for the initial configuration I see is in the line of adding the information that: if no gamepad is detected, the keyboard may substitute for one...

The RetroPie Docs have a very detailed chapter about Spinners, Trackballs, Lightguns, Mice .

For the fine tuning of the spinners' sensitivity for each game, I used MAME`s own so-called tab menu that comes up when you press the tab key. See this video about how to do that:

Two more useful references about spinners:

@shonee That SD card is probably set up in a way that nobody can possibly predict and therefore support cannot be offered according to the guidelines shown in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
Only the creator can help you with it.

The best thing to do is install retropie from the official image and follow the first install guide. All your controllers will be autodetected.
