Okay I've almost finished my long dead project but I'm having trouble wiring in the GBA's controller board into the Pi in a way that it recognizes it as a configurable controller. Can I do this or am I trying to do something that's simply not possible?

Moving thread now that I see the Projects and Themes section (I was looking for a section like that before posting but got confused by this site's layout).

Oh, thank you, finding a pokemon_light_platinum_final.gba.zip worked! I don't know what was wrong with the other ROMS, because they all worked in the PC emulator with only some minor setting tweaks. That's odd, but as long as I can get it to work that's fine with me.

Have you tried setting audio_sync to on in RetroArch? I'm not sure it solves the same thing you're experiencing, but I had audio distortion when frame rates skipped and this helped a bit. It was a long time ago so I might be misremembering things though.

I have one of their v1 boards when it was called game pi advance. Here my build log.

Gba worked well (can't remember the core off the top of my head) but if your wanting gba achievements, it didn't run mGBA very well. There new free play CM3 board with the built in pi 3 sounds really impressive.

I also have a Gameboy Zero which uses an original DMG-01 shell, with X and Y added to the front and L and R added to the back. Sudomod.com I'm currently upgrading mine to a raspberry pi z w and New hdmi screen.

The weirdest thing is that the GameBoy Zero run mGba very well but the game pie advance didn't, same pi, same retroarch version, same core version.

Hi @Lodan-Zark can I have your permission to use your handheld overlays in my RetroArch shader packs on GitHub? I'll give you credit with the other designers of course, since I only make presets and don't claim textures as my own.

@loop315 Which image are you using? What hardware are you on? Please read this as agreed on signing up to the forums https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first and give us some more info.

From your post, I can kind of deduce that as you got this Retropie "kit" for Christmas, that it was purchased with the SD card pre-loaded. That type of image is not something that the devs here will support and you'd be better downloading the official image and following the initial setup guide on the wiki.

Turns out the auto controller bindings made by EmulationStation where incorrect in RetroArch, I just had to go into the RetroArch Settings and rebind them. No Help Needed Here.
