@ccaveman84 Thanks for confirming the fix.
@buzz maybe we can modify the splashscreen service to start after the local-fs.target ? I can submit a PR.

      @mitu I figured it out.
Also, do the psp eboot games run slower than the normal bin and cue format? Parasite Eve II runs really slow, A lot of lag on the psp .pbp eboot.

@vsilvalopes I know the Dualshock4 new driver (well, it's the same driver for both DS3 and DS4) also adds a device for the touchpad present on the controller (which appears as a mouse), but I don't remember the DS3 controllers having the same touchpads.
Can you pair one DS3 controller, then run the following 2 commands

      lsusb cat /proc/bus/input/devices

      and post the output ?
Have you installed the customhidsonly driver from the RetroPie-Setup drivers section before pairing the controllers ?

@mitu Okay I've replaced everything in the snes retroarch.cfg file with what you said, everything still works but the hotkey still doesn't. It doesn't seem like anything has changed...

@RyanT Please give more details about your setup - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. What game/system are you trying to scrape and it's not working ? Give me a concrete example.

@mitu my apologies, im not sure of the rules here, one topic was different(relating to multiple controllers). Im just frustrated as there is clearly meant to be an option for this and i cannot seem to find any answers anywhere.

@mitu But isnt the shortcut meant to be Hotkey + X, not just select/start on its own. I'm almost certain my map is correct. Its almost like Retroarch thinks my Xbox controller is something different.

Can you add more info about your system, as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first ? What type of controller are you using ? You might want to switch to Emulationstation as frontend and configure it, since this will also generate a gamepad auto-configuration for RetroArch.

@Xenos I'm using an USB SSD for my roms. It makes it very easy to just unplug it and plug it into my desktop pc to manage roms or images/videos, especially if moving many or big files around, which tends to be very slow over my WLAN connection to the Pi in my DIY upright arcade cabinet.

@mitu Ah, that would explain why it worked during my last install, but not now. Updating all the core packages at once seemed to ignore the fact that there was a newer version of ES and left me on 2.7.5, so I updated that individually, which put me on 2.7.6, and everything works like it used to now. Thanks for your help there! You've saved me tearing my hair out looking for something I would never would have found by myself! :)

I might be a homebrew clone of the game, or a self-extracting archive. Where did you get it, @Dresher?

However, exe files are binary files for Windows or MS DOS and can't be "made" into other extensions.

(At first, I wondered what a "game stacker" might be. 😊)

@ThisGuyEveryTime said in Cannot boot Image, Can boot Noobs:

I tried on another sd to unpack with 7-zip and then burning using win32image and that still does not work

How did you format the card? Did you use this application? before using win32 disk imager?

Is the card compatible? See this list

When you extract the image, it should be a Disc Image File which is 2.4GB in size. Write this to the card. The zip file is about 600MB before extraction. Try unzipping with something else.

These were the settings suggested by the author of the N64 compatibility guide, not my work and simply what he seems suggest work for him while testing what N64 games work or do not work and also what video plugin works best, in his opinion while testing

      Thanks

Metadata (which includes number of players) is stored in the gamelist.xml file that is situated in /.emulationstation/gamelists/SYSTEM/ - there will be a separate gamelist.xml for each system.

While you could generate a gamelist.xml file manually the preferred method would be to use a scraper (https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/scraper) there are both the in built one and many others.

@mitu Perfect! that's how it works with my PC setup, just wasn't sure if having a key mapped to "esc" would work.
