thank you both for your responses. I did read those wiki articles, but obviously I don't understand exactly what they are saying. Seems like there is a LOT of information, but I'm having trouble deciphering it.

@ditch123 I know this is an old topic. But it looks like a bunch of know it alls replied to this message, and didn't even remotely answer the guys question. To get run and gun to play and passed the load screen you have to hit f2 and f3 at the same time. You most likely never got this game to work. I hope you now will.

To create backups for my PI I use Win32 disk imager as I already had it installed from when setting up Retropie on to my SD card.

There are some useful YouTube videos on to how to use the tool but effectively it's just the reverse process of how you got the image of retropie on the SD card but now you are copying an image off and storing it on a PC.

It's astonishing that you could ask "Hot keys don't work - why?" when we all know they do work. The astonishing bit is assuming that we can mind read!?

So, I have a few games (DigDug, Tron and Galaga) that both require a normal rom and then a parent rom to play. Is there anyway to either combine the two that way I don't have multiple files in my directory.

yes, acquire an 'un-merged set'. you can do this yourself using clrmamepro but it's easier to just get a new one.

also, without knowing your mame emulator and romset i can't really help further

@Eater_Of_Cheese Do you know the resolution of the TVs you've tested with? I have a 1080p TV that I had to mess with the overscan on and my 720p TV is fine out of the box.

After searching the forum I discovered I just needed to put the four bios files in the roms folder.

Hotkeys still don't work and when ever I configure my controllers in emulationstation, the other one doesn't work in a game and I have to configure everytime I turn on my pi.

Thanks BuZz! Yea...this is so my bad. I assumed since the Raspberry Pi I ordered from Amazon a while ago, since it was called Raspberry Pi "2" B+, was part of the 2/3 generation. But, after reading about the 0/1 vs 4 raspberry icons displaying, and not paying attention to that during boot, downloaded the 0/1 image file, and everything is working fine!

Again, sorry for being a goof and letting that one slip right by me...
