      @edmaul69 I am using:
      Tomee NES to PC USB Retro Controller Adapter Converter - PC Mac Linux

      I have two of them, I tried having both used for the joystick plugs, and tried with one adapter for the player 1 plug. Thanks for the tip, I will give it a try👍

      @itsnitro yes.

      input_player1_up_axis_btn = "" input_player1_down_axis_btn = "" input_player1_left_axis_btn = "" input_player1_right_axis_btn = "" input_player2_up_axis_btn = "" input_player2_down_axis_btn = "" input_player2_left_axis_btn = "" input_player2_right_axis_btn = ""

      Just add your dpad numbers or hat info. No way to use turbo buttons to do it though.

      @meleu said in Setting up two different controllers with different button maps on one game:

      @joelf It's a good question, but I'm afraid there's no way to do that with pure RetroArch configs.

      This is what I thought. I was hoping that retroarch has some way of telling what controller is what, but I wasn't expecting much. I could use the core remap to make player 1 & 2 always arcade layout, and player 3 & 4 always pad style, then hope that the individual roms don't care what position the actual player is in to start a 2 player game, but I think i'd run into issues a lot more than what I am already doing.

      sounds good!! i found this one, it seems to be pretty small, but i cant actually find proper dimensions for it. The screws are supposed to be M2.5, so that would scale it all to be pretty diddy

      I have two Arcade Boards that dont work with my Pi 2+3: the MadCatz StreetFighter Tornament-Board (PS3) and the NeoGeo2+ Joyboard, also for PS3. Besides of them i agree: all USB Devices apart of these two seem to work on the fly. Im using MortalKombat-Tournament Sticks by the way and love them

      @RoswellWitness said in Mame joystick issue.:

      Once I figure out what info I am supposed to give, and where to find it, I will repost this whole mess.

      You need to discover what version of MAME you're using. AFAIK we have 7 different versions.

      Look here: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/MAME/

      @pnoeric you press it once then start pressing other keyboard keys. You will see a key number appear in the upper corner everytime you press a key.

      Well you could:

      Open the retroarch.cfg file of the emulator you're using and see if there is any button configuration in the file.

      Open the joystick configuration file of your controller and see if the key ID of the button down isn't being used by an another variable.

      The button could simple be broken.

      @spruce_m00se for using tons of db9 controllers i recommend either a vision-daptor or ultimate pc interface (upci is 2player version. Has some other controllers the vision-adapter doesnt have. Both made by the same person.) The master system also has the two extra pins as functiong buttons. They match the same button numbers as start and mode button on the genesis mode. He added these so i could use my db9 modified nes and turbografx/pc engine controllers. He makes some other controller adapters too. His adapters truly are the best i have ever used.

      I bought this arcade controller and runs perfect:

      https://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-F300-Arcade-Fight-Joystick/dp/B019MFPLC0/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1486484759&sr=1-1&keywords=mayflash+300

      In addition, it is compatible with sanwa pieces (if you break something you can repair it ^^).
