      What kind of tricks?

datatype sizes aren't the same between those 2 archs, so you have to find some mean to pad them if you need to save them.

@retrodaniel said in Which files/folders to backup?:

know that I changed the configuration of some games specifically during emulation, but I have no idea where those are stored. Could anyone point me to where they are, please?

The overrides for cores/games should be stored in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/configs, each core has its own folder for overrides. If you're backing up /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch, it should be enough - you can restore them afterwards.

Other than that, the backed up folders you mentioned should be enough.

Amazing! Thank you for the help :)

Things get more difficult if you don't read the wiki or if you don't provide the important information about the system where the problem exists.
I made the same mistake the first time I tried RetroPie , I found it all very complicated, but they wasn't.

@damiorc it looks like your game rom is invalid. you’re using psx and ps2 interchangeably, which may have something to do with it; they’re separate systems with separate emulators and roms.

please post the whole log and all the requested info.

@mitu Not really, I just translated the basic things in the menu. I made those translations for my dad so he can understand what are those things in the menu. I am the one who adds roms, configures the system etc. so I don't really need a full system translation. Anyway, thanks for your help guys. <3

It's probably too much to ask as that's 100s of projects and updates to curate. i would guess that every day there's at least one update to a bit of software in retropie.

just 'watch' the relevant projects in github. eg https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup to receive update messages.

updates are also summarized in each retropie release: https://retropie.org.uk/news/

@Grumbles I've found that any images over 1000 pixels either vertical or horizontal either won't load, or are slow to load. The sweet spot for HD resolution and speed seems to be in 750-850 range. Don't use 300 dpi, drop it to 144 or 72 dpi as well.

I've done this to all of my images and I'm happy with the look and load speed on a 55" screen.

One last one .. make sure the size of the file is not over 900k. Reduce it to around 600-500k as long as it doesn't screw-up the quality.

I'm running a Pi3b+, a highly modified version of Eudora with custom system pics and logos if you need to know

@mitu thats sad, wish I knew how to code for it, as Elan Performer software takes midi-in. Great for triggering animations. Not to mention Octamed audio tracker for making music :(

Any idea what would it take to do, is it scripting or C+ coding. etc?

      Some refs I have found:
      https://github.com/midwan/amiberry/wiki/Serial-Port-support
      and for a PC/Ami emulator:

@mitu I understand. I really appreciate all your help. It appears to be working well enough to use. I tested between a 12 year old Visio 1080p and a 3 year old 4k Sony Bravia and it works equally well on both.
Only complaint I have now is a nitpicky one. When in the menus the audio click I hear when scrolling is delayed and has inconsistent tonalities that are grating to the ear. Can only be described as sometimes scratchy and sometimes clicky. Lol. I can live with it if no ideas on that one. When in games the audio is fine and right on time.
