      Buzz, you were right mate. Lowered the clock speed from 1400 to 1200 and lr-mame2014 installed. Trying 2016 now as well, not expecting any issue.
      I didn't have any issues running games at 1400, but it must have been a bit to high to be perfectly stable for compilation.

      Thanks again mate.

      @Roxsteady Amazing. I noticed it's 55 seconds though. Is there a way to skip the intro video if emustation is already finished booting up?

      @retronoobie3000 I can confirm this to work. I had my retropie gamelist.xml get wiped somehow and attempted to update the package via RetroPie-Setup. A bunch of errors showed that the xml was empty. I then removed and reinstalled the menu package and that repopulated my xml file just fine. Everything is working now.

      @tubiroman when you fixed the slashes you added all four missing / slashes correct? are you getting an error? i would remove the savefile directory you added. it will automatically put it in the roms folder. then when you start up the game it should see your game save. although i need to test in a week when i get 3000 miles away from here where all my stuff is being mailed to. i think i might have had an issue when i was trying to save resident evil 2. i havent played the playstation much so i cant completely remember.

      @Chuck_B no, it requires quite of bit of power to pretty much ignore all the emulated ps1 rendering code and interrupt it to have it rerendred correctly. The pi just doesn't have the power.
      It is possible on PC using a new plugin in the beetle ps1 emulator.

      To find out if the RPi GPIOs are working correctly, you can use the script as described at https://github.com/petrockblog/ControlBlockService2#checking-the-raw-gpio-of-the-raspberry. It could either be a wiring issue or an issue with the ControlBlock. I suggest to run through the script and see if the GPIOs are all working correctly.

      @ExarKunIv

      Thanks for the response. I have manged to make progress thanks to the seo-michael.co.uk link. However, now that I have 5 VPN locations configured, my connectivity is failing me. I won't say more until I've fought for a while longer. It's possible that I overcome this obstacle, too.

      @lurkout performance / familiarity. We don't use retroarch as a frontend, so there is less need for xmb. I'm quite happy leaving it with the boring old gui for now anyway - but users can switch if they want.

      @Capeman

      Second this:

      On an opinion note: I've always thought that hyperspin and attractmode wheel themes look cluttered and confusing, they just don't have the elegance and simplicity of a good ES theme... but that is just personal opinion and up for discussion, haha.

      @buzz I'm a completely new to the Retropie scene, so please forgive my stupidity.

      If I run a game from a command line I'm assuming that I have to quit Emulation Station.

      If I do that will the config file still be used for the system that I am running from the command line to back out of a game (hotkey+start)?

      I'm asking because I do not want to unplug my Pi when I'm done with a game...

      Thank you in advance!!
