@smallvillee can you type anything? If so type this.

      cd RetroPie-Setup

      And then type this

      sudo ./retropie_setup.sh

      Then reinstall emulationstation

You didn't write retropie, you cannot use it to make money, it's not yours. It is a breach of the licence. It is illegal.

i'm using the pidrive 1 TB edition for my picade with retropie.

i'm powering my whole picade, pidrive, screen, usb keyboard all with a single power adaptor (the official 3a one). Works perfect. Although i'm not using the berryboot SD card and i did not install the (retropie) system itselve on the harddisk but on a sd card. Only my roms and assets are located on the pidrive, this way i can easily swap systems and roms remain intact. I'm using the system from retropie toolkit to use my external disk as a roms storage. (see https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/7780/loading-roms-from-usb-harddrive)

watch out this script uses http://eazyhax.com/pitime/expand_to_external_drive.sh and adds avoid_warnings=2 to /boot/config.txt so remove it afterwards or you won't get notified anymore about undervoltage and high temprature warnings !

@edmaul69 said in Doom and other ports, Controller not working, and XBOX 360 controller problem.:

@wilburburns so for zdoom you need to start with a keyboard or a mouse. inside of zdoom you need to go into option and the controller settings to turn on controllers, but in that same menu before you turn on the controller you need to disable the third and fourth analogs for your controller. Otherwise the controller goes crazy scrolling through the menus. Then there is another controls menu that you set up the buttons in. But you need to still use a keyboard and mouse for that. Once you are set up, moving through the menus with a controller are left and right instead of up and down if i recall.

Thanks, I'll try this tonight. Is it safe to assume the other Ported games such as Duke Nukem 3D should have a similar process to configure.

@Shockwave wouldn't it be armv7-mali for platform on an odroid-xu4? I'm trying it now, I installed debian jessie and I've just started running the script, will update later on

looking forward in your results, retropie is the best imo and it would be perfect of Xu4!

      Yep, works.

      Retropie > File Manager
      Navigate to /home/pi/.reicast
Copy XXX.bin (the save file) to a place you can muck with it; I chose (home/pi/RetroPie/roms) because I could get there via SSH
      Grab VMSbrowser (http://www.emulatronia.com/parcial/vmsbrowser.zip)
Extract VMSbrowser to a folder on your desktop
Go to GameFaqs and grab whatever saves you want, save them to the same directory as VMSbrowser
Copy the XXX.bin file from your RetroPie/roms folder to the directory with VMSbrowser
Make a copy of the XXX.bin file in the VMSbrowser folder, just in case; rename one of the two files to "vms.bin"
Open VMSbrowser; it'll load the bin file automatically
      <Import> the .dci files
When you're done, choose <Write> to save the changes you've made
Rename "vms.bin" back to its original filename
Copy that file back to home/pi/RetroPie/roms
      RetroPie > File Manager
Copy the file back to /home/pi/.reicast (authorizing an overwrite)

      Done.

unfortunately that doesn't seem to work. I need the input to recognize GPIO rather than the controller button.

Let me explain a little better...
I am using a Super Video Arcade machine as the case for my retropie set up. The goal of the project, like many have done, was to use the original on/off switch and reset button for all emulators.

So to do that, I have 1 GPIO input setup for the keyboard letter 'r' which I used as reset in my jzintv keyboard hack. It works great. So the Intellivision emulator acts completely like a real Intellivision complete with reset and on/off switch. I still have the keypad programmed for exit and all that, but I use the 'reset' button just for the sake of nostalgia.

So I'd like to do the same with all other emulators using the 'reset' button as the input for each emulator... I just can't get it to work.

      Thanks.

Could you recommend a good & cheap HDMI Touchscreen which works for RetroPie?
from 3.5inch up to 5inch would be nice (with Case).

      Thanks in advance!"

There has been an update to NetPlay in general that supports something called "Net Rooms" which would be similar to random match making. However it doesn't work on Retropie at the moment.

      https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/7913/retroarch-1-4-1-netplay/17

I personally would love to see Retropie to link up with Fightcade https://www.fightcade.com/

@PetroRie 1 hour. I use it to prepare and devour lunch, work on themes and watch stuff on YouTube. I'll occasionally get into modes of playing stuff. Before I discovered retropie I had a full LaunchBox setup on my work computer.

I'l just add; I thought the OP was talking about a personal network. I run my setup off my NAS drive, so I have plenty of space for my larger files.

      @milenko
I just tried 2 different versions of Dukes of Hazzard for USA with both lr-pcsx-rearmed and pcsx-rearmed and neither of them would load. Got the black screen.

Must not be compatible with the current version of pcsx on the Raspberry Pi :(

Bummer. Thanks for trying. I'll keep trying with each update release. This project has me wanting to play it so much that I'll probably get out the Playstation and the game this weekend to play it old school style.

File is only .011 mb - is that right??

Yes but you will also need a BitTorrent client. I've never tried using one on a Mac so I can't recommend one but here's the wikipedia page for BitTorrent:
