@fitz43 Choose the overwrite option for the Gamelists in the configuration screen and it will re-scrape the already scraped ROMs.

@koogelpotato said in RetroPie low voltage and no usable temporary directory found:

power supply apples 5.2volts and 2.4 amps

By the look of the warning messages you get and the 2.4 amps, I'd say your power supply is not very good. If you have 3B+ and/or you power up the LCD screen from your PI, then you'll definitely need a better source.

You'd probably be better off researching if you need 128GB at all to start with. The fact that some emulators are listed as working does not mean the games are actually 100% playable, so you need to think if you're okay with stunted performance. The demanding systems are probably better dealt with on a single-game basis, checking compatibility wikis and all that.

@PittStone My mistake. You told about that. I just took information from here. There is no information about version, and is told about some free version.

I am still searching for native Linux solution...

      I am developing a theory that Player 3 has the best characters;
      Ralph the Wolf (Rampage)
      Bart (the Simpsons)
      Donatello ( TMNT) and TMNTII

Ha! I really think you're on to something there. For 'Rampage', I play Ralph most of the time myself. It's a shame he was always the one snubbed when they needed to cut a character for the home ports. Of course the Lynx version actually threw us a curve ball by including a fourth character, Larry the rat. I've experimented with just about all the ports, looking for a good alternative that allows character selection and while several of them are very impressive on a technical level, especially on the Lynx, Master System and Atari 2600, nothing beats the arcade original.

Running with ROMs from an external drive - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive/. If you remove the drive, then the system will read the ROms from the SD card. Kids mode - you can toggle Kids mode in Emulationstation, the frontend for the listing the games, and only games with the 'Kid Mode' flag will be shown, see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Child-friendly-EmulationStation/#ui-modes

If you are still using the EasyHax setup try the following.

Make sure you are using the updated version that runs from the RetroPie menu

Format the drive to NTFS and create a “roms” folder at the root of the drive. (do not transfer ROMs yet)

Run the Expand to External Drive (Disable) to remove any previous setups.

Plug External Hard drive to Raspbery Pie

Run the Expand to External Drive (Enable) - Pi will shutdown.

Plug External Hard Drive into your PC. There should now be a full selection of folders in your “roms” directory. Place your roms into the desired system and it should be good to go.

You need to copy the ROM folders contents to your PC or a USB stick, then transfer them over to the new image as you did initially. You might have to write your backup image back to the card in order to copy the ROMs.

I knew I was doing something obviously wrong, I just didn't know what. Upon going to go copy down the names of the files, found out it was a divided archive inside the original zip, so while I unzipped the files, I did not compile them from the archive. I feel really dumb, and apologize for wasting your time. Thank you for trying to help a sad nub.
