Do others still have this with 4.3? I updated from 4.2.[something] (the version where Emulation Station's splash screen changed to black and Emulation Station gained support for video previews) on an RPi3, but still have this crash. I even rebuilt ES by source through the retropie_setup.sh interface.

I am using the selph scraper to fetch video previews, and as a part of that the "images" folder and the gamelist.xml file are now instde of each of the rom folders instead of under ~/.emulationstation. Has anyone else had this issue with the same situation? I might try nuking all of the scraped info to see if that improves stability.

@BuZz, is there a ticket out on this issue that we can follow?

oh really? I spent hours figuring it out so I'll just leave it lol. Atleast I learned a lot today. Speaking of music, I read that you needed all the music files in mp3 format named correctly in the same folder as the wads to get game music working, but the original music is working just fine in normal doom and doom 2 by just changing the midi device to OPL. Was that an old issue? I have all the mp3 files but didn't have to use them

Try to run these commands separately:

sudo apt-get remove --purge lxde*

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

sudo apt-get autoremove

reboot

@jonnykesh but the game is already in the gamelist... its only images/video which are missing. Wouldn't -append skip the game completely, and not check to see if it has new images/videos?

As @caver01 told you there are several ways... and your display just needs a few Pins as told....

If nothing else helps use MCP23008 or MCP23017 gpio expanders and connect to I2C-bus. But please don't ask me how to do this. Never used that :)

The fat32 partition is to make the external HDD bootable by USB.

@mediamogul is the only 3D option a Red/Blue, or is there an option for side by side (my TV can create 3D from a side by side)?

I'm not fully up to trot on "Shaders" but while browsing around, there was some mention that somehow, I may be able to smash the shader and Retropie bits together and get a side by side 3D?

Ultimate goal: Raspberry Pi 3 B outputs 3D signal over HDMI, OR a side by side 3D image with the TV converting to a 3D image.

Or it could be impossible, I'm not sure.

@dirthurts I'd stick with the default. If you are running a RetroPie on a Pi you would be saving literally pennies a year by changing this setting.

According to the docs, you should be using lr-snes9x2010 as your emulator and enable the 'Multi-Tap' support in retroarch.

@barbudreadmon I did yes. Back then I only updated lr-fbalpha 2012 which didn't improve things.

Did you ever succeed with this? Very soon I will be looking to have 2 arcade style controllers all the time in my cocktail cab and then I would like option of plugging in gamepads occassionally.

I'd suggest you go back to the docs pages and have a read. Mame requires specific romsets for specific emulators.

It worked perfectly, thanks :) I asked that because when my SD data (mostly my gamelists) got corrupted and I erased each single gamelist to regenerate them the results got even worse hiding more games and erasing the default scraped data from the RetroPie collection

There are missing shaders.. like the single pass HQ shaders, the fxaa shaders, etc. As well, no idea where to grab the cheats. I just copied em from the downloaded ones from 4.2 though.
