As @mitu said, it depends, and most problems can be reset just by editing or deleting the resp. config file. One thing I do like about Linux (since late 2006 in my case) is that plain text config files are the norm – many of which will be just recreated with default values if deleted – and thus, don't require a particular tool to edit them.

This isn't foolproof, some games don't like the change. Pinball Illusions, Pinball Fantasies, Fire & Ice and Skidmarks 2 all work fine. So long as the CUE file has CD32 at the end of the filename they boot and auto setup the CD32 pad.

Seek and Destroy and Alien Breed 3D will not boot in this format, instead they bring up the 'Cats Eyes' BIOS screen. I'm totally lost as to why as the other four CD32 games work fine so the BIOS clearly cannot be the issue.

I'll try.

The ps3controller and sixaxis are the ones you need to install, but not at the same time. Remove both and try with the sixaxis driver only - both for the PS3 and the clone (for which you might have to enable 3rd party clone support in the driver).
I don't think the dongle will help, the Bluetooth connection should be ok on the 3B+ model.
How did you install your RetroPie system ?

@dalehitchy so if anyone comes looking for this thread years in the future, the roms file locations, which a previous user failed to state, is located at "/media/pi/retropie/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/" within the SDcard itself. you just need to pick the folder for which your rom is supported(GBC, GBA, etc). so for pokemon crystal it will look like this: /media/pi/retropie/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/gbc/pokemon_crystal.gbc

you will need to be using some type of linux OS to be able to see this folder as windows cannot see above the boot folder.

I got both Android and Microsoft mode detected when wired.
Android detects as a PS Controller
Microsoft as a 360 controller
it does NOT like Switch Mode

Odd question, my Retropie's sound for PS1 games are really, really low and not sure why.

@mitu i ended up getting it fixed I just deleted the game list.xml and image folder and put the rom directly in the folder instead of in a folder inside of a folder. not sure why it did that with the nes games because I scraped a couple sega cd games before that , they were structured the same way (roms/segacd/game/game files) and it didn’t fail to reload EmulationStation but it placed the image in the last folder. Maybe because those games have multiple game files in the folder instead of just 1. I’ll see what happens with the ps1 games .

@h4ckerv2 I tested some things at the same time but I thing all the things together solved the issue:
-Change the psx bios to another of another website
-Disable the screensaver in all places (rpi and retropie), in rpi you will need to install first a screensaver and disable it after.

Cdi games can have missing cd audio

When I converted I did use GDI files to make my CHD files. That's a good point. I do remember reading something about CDI files being "hacked" in someways so they can be burnt on a discs.

You probably want to just get the GDI version and maybe convert them to CHD.

I assume that by Xbox 360 you mean a controller for Xbox 360 - is it an original controller or a compatible one ? Do you know the make/model ?

This info is covered already in the Docs - including where to copy the BIOS files, since RetroPie already configures RetroArch.
Note that some games have issues when the 'boot to BIOS' option is selected in lr-pcsx-rearmed.
