Same problem with new installation.
I have a GamePI20 and can't use it with 4.7.x version (driver/module not support the Kernel version). I use the 4.6 instead. All working great, the GPIO controller work fine in emulator and ES, but under dos-like menu (Raspbian, emu config, packages updates, etc..) only the Pad key Up don't made the right action (tab over bottom buttons). Is do not happen on SNES clone USB controller.

@mrvanes , I follow the request of @Melvin-FoX , you have updated, ok, but what are updated ? Kernel ? Setup-script ? I don't want OS upgrade, because if the kernel is updated, the GamePI20 stop working (no LCD, no pad). But if you have updated all, I guest you don't know the lib or other thing that fix exactly .

@mitu that's what i don't understand. Here is what i do:

I add a rom into the fba folder open the rom (the default emulator is lr-fbneo the game opens but i cannot insert coins with any of the buttons even though the "all" retroarch is set to "select" so I edited the retroarch in the fba folder only and nothing, it doesn't work...
Some of those roms work with Mame, so no big deal but i can't get any of them to work with lr-fbneo...

I hooked up a keyboard through the USB and i could insert coins with r-shift key but again the controllers were all over the place...

At least I can play some games now so i'll be trying them with different folders and emulators...

in wich file are the controller setting stored?

RetroArch input configurations are stored in \\retropie\configs\all\retroarch-joypads, each controller has one .cfg file named after the controller.

@slim-shady There isn't a native emulator for it, but you can run it through lr-mess.

See this thread for details on how that core works, as it's a bit complicated to set up.

I've just installed LXDE and try again but nothing changes. I don't know if it helps but if i power off the display and/or detach from VGA it doesn't work; only thing is to close ES. I still think it is an ES issue...i don't know.

Alas, I have no experience with Dolphin, so I can't help you further with your problem.

There's a setting called "Parse Gamelists Only" in the Emulation Station menu (I don't remember where exactly right now, just bring up the menu and poke around) that would do what you're describing.

@redmarsbluemoon Yes, stock Raspbian. No need for userland ds4drv :) Imperceptible latency atlhough I've never measured it, I can easily play even games like Street Fighter II.

Try updating your packages/kernel? apt dist-upgrade and rpi-update.

Also be careful about interference from other wireless sources (Wi-Fi, other 2.4 GHz devices)... Maybe try moving things around and seeing if that helps. Best of luck.

I could not remember which of the two screens contained the mouse axis. I think my suggestion for remaps would only apply to items in the Quick Menu -> Controls. Since the mouse axis isn't in there it must be the override that is supposed to save it.

I think there have been reports of some settings not saving correctly as expected. I read someone was able to save settings by opening the retroarch menu from within Emulation Station and therefore no ROM was loaded. Might be worth a try if you haven't already.

EDIT: I can confirm that neither overrides nor remaps will save a mouse index setting for me either.

Nervermind. Thanks for the tone. By the way, I was able to figure it all out with shaders and no lag.

@dankcushions arrrrgh. Thanks. Definite performance issues when rotating the whole system, and PiFBA is the only core that's giving me issues otherwise. Now I'm off to see if I can compile FBNeo with Cyclone and see how that runs. Thanks for your help!

Killer Instinct (arcade) was ported to Killer Instinct (SNES)
Killer Instinct 2 (arcade) was ported to Killer Instinct Gold (N64)

I see many people refer to the N64 version but if you want the original KI game the SNES version should work well on the Pi.
