    @drewpie1895 -Thing is that once you pay someone to stick the right roms in a folder for you you are going to hit the problem and then what? pay someone again?

    Well, it's the same approach I would take if my washing machine broke. So, I can understand people who have as little motivation to fix their computer problems alone as I have to fix my washing machine.

    That said, @drewpie1895, don't you know anyone with enough tech affinity and helpfulness who could look into it without payment? In your other thread, it looks like it's only some minor issue for a person with at least medium tech skills.

    @future-child said in Atari 800 setup is nightmarish:

    It does however lack an entry for A800 in retropie but editing /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg will fix that

    Only reason why it's missing is that no one ever confirmed a800 working and with what parameters.

    @alexxx I believe the Using joystick message is the joystick information SDL reports to DOSBox. For my PS3 controller, I get the following:

    Using joystick Sony PLAYSTATION(R)3 Controller with 27 axes, 19 buttons and 0 hat(s)

    I do also get the following message which confirms my joysticktype setting.

    One joystick reported, initializing with 4axis

    I have checked the dosbox-SVN.conf file and the 2axis setting allows support for two joysticks.

    @rbaker Regarding Step 4, simply restarting EmulatiomStation will do the trick. No need to restart the whole system. At least in the last versions of RetroPie.

    @mankysteve I'm not sure where you read that but as an experiment I tried "Star Wars - Rogue Squadron (USA) (Rev A).n64" It runs with a lot of audio glitches and slowdown. I would not call it playable. I am using a Pi3 at stock settings and mupen64plus tested with all of the various plugins.
    If you are determined to play it just mess around with the resolution and plug-ins using runcommand menu and see what feels best to you.

    no BIOS files found.

    What's the contents of the .cue file ? Are the .bin files also present in the psi folder. Also, you're missing the BIOS - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Playstation-1/#bios - , get the bios file and make sure it's in the BIOS folder.

    @yramrag No worries. I was just throwing out random ideas as opposed to actually understanding and fixing the issue! But it's always worth checking the easy stuff first. Glad to hear you are all sorted now.

    @isrnick I second this method. I don't know what started causing it but after a certain point every card I re-write I have to delete partitions/volumes.

    @1500points If we are talking about advmame, and the settings to which you refer were done at the generic level, yes, the settings would transfer, but if the adjustments to sensitivity etc. were made under the one rom, I don't see how it could. A quick look at the relevant inputs in the .rc file should answer this.

    I would not give up: you can install the Pixel desktop and use WINE. Don't forget that behind emulationstation you have a linux machine so games such as Micropolis (SimCity 1) , OpenXCom (Xcom), OpenRA (C&C) work

    @tigerinatlanta Yeah, you map each cannon a button, but the direction has nothing to do with it. If you press the button for LEFT cannon, it will fire from LEFT CANNON no matter where you position the crosshair. In other words, you might have the crosshair directly above the Right cannon, but if you press LEFT, it will fire from LEFT and travel all the way across the screen. That is just how the game works. You decide, based on which button you press, which cannon fires at the crosshair.

    On NES games the music plays way too fast, and on SNES games, there are minor issues with the sound.

    I can't speak to the SNES issues, but I believe both lr-fceumm and lr-nestopia need to be aware that a game is PAL before they will play at the correct speed. If I remember correctly, lr-nestopia achieves this by checking the NstDatabase.xml file in your BIOS folder and lr-fceumm checks for "PAL" to be included in the file name. Outside of that, you can also force PAL from the core options in the RetroArch menu as well.

    @madmodder123 said in Overclocking doesn't seem to work:

    Try these out and use mupen64plus-GlideN64 for Star Fox 64
    I can run at about 25-30 FPS with occasional dips down to 20-22 FPS, it is totally playable

    Start Overclock Settings

    arm_freq=1350
    gpu_freq=525
    core_freq=525
    sdram_freq=500
    over_voltage=6
    v3d_freq=525
    force_turbo=1
    avoid_pwm_pll=1

    End Overclock Settings

    Keep in mind using force_turbo & over_voltage together will add the void warranty flag. Not that most care, but it is something to keep in mind for people who may not know.
