Exit Emulationstation and you'll see the disk space usage shown before the prompt. If you're near 100%, then you might have a disk full situation so cannot save?

I ended up doing a fresh install and got everything working. Thanks for the help.

Well after a few days of searching files and experimenting on the pi, I think I've got this figured out.

What else could I say?

The .bin file is not editable in a text editor, the .cue is. Looks like the .cue is valid, check if the filename of the .bin is _exactly Final Fantasy VII [NTSC-U] [Disc1of3] [SCUS-94163].BIN.
Remember that Linux is case sensitive so
Final Fantasy VII [NTSC-U] [Disc1of3] [SCUS-94163].bin is not the same as Final Fantasy VII [NTSC-U] [Disc1of3] [SCUS-94163].BIN.

If it's not a name mismatch, then try posting the whole log file (with verbose logging turned on) on pastebin.com to take a look.

@jdoc never mind. I just switched the USB ports and they work as expected now.

Well, yes - but the question was if it's detected as a keyboard or as a gamepad. I'm guessing it's a keyboard if it doesn't have any auto-configuration generated.

It's not about appropriate; it's about the fact that those are not official RetroPie products. They are repackaged with with copyrighted material and violate the user license. Unless you are trying to install an official image, you won't get help here.

For those interested, here's how I fixed it:

When you map keys with "m" on the virtual keyboard, they get stored with the "keymap", not hotkeys or joystick map. You have to "save current keymap to" to save it to a file. Then you have to change the "Active Keymap" to "Positional (user)".

I actually did another step by manually loading the keymap before I quit vice, but I don't think you need to do that. The next time you load up vice, the user keymap you saved should be loaded.

@mitu I wiped my ds card and redownloaded RetroPie everything is good now

Also art book , is one of awsome classy theme which i really love and if it miss a system you have it bult to use a really cool font to look like that it's ok , and you can add any missing theme easly .

And belive me iam really have a huge collection of systems, so i always become sad when a lovely theme miss a system

First, xboxdrv should not be installed unless you really know how to use it. It's not a real device driver, but emulates an Xbox compatible controller. The xpad is usually used for X360/Xbox controllers. If that doesn't work, then it means you're encountering the same issue.

The configuration for EmulationStation's input is in \\retropie\configs\all\emulationstation\es_input.cfg. You can verify there that your input is mapped correctly and there are no button overlaps.

You can also start EmulationStation with the --debug flag and it will log the inputs pressed.

I've found a work around, if you are using a ps4 controller you could use the middle touch pad to "wake" raspberry pie. As i said, it is a work around but it is working :)

Pi4 support is ongoing and no, there's no release date. If you want to try it out, use the Manual Install method.
