@xFlesk said in Amiberry. how to disable those awful scanlines ?:

i dont know what happend with this amazing emulator, but since some update it plays games with those disgusting scanlines which are completly gamebreaking for me. is there any way to turn this shitty scanlines off ? i cant see any option related to it in F12 menu.
    thank you in advance

Assuming we're talking about the same visual affect, turning off Line Doubling in the Display section removed those scanlines for me.

@Hyperlord You're supposed to run skyscraper with an online scraping source to get any data. Your command line doesn't show that. So you should run it like

Syscraper -p nes -s screenscraper --videos

If you don't specify a scraping source (-s), then it will query the LocalDB, which might not have any videos scraped.

@mitu Just stumbled over this thread because I am a proud owner of two Aimtrak lightguns since last saturday, and I'm searching for any information about their setup. :)

Following the links from the video's description, I found the github page of the script in question:

    https://github.com/Shakz76/Eazy-Hax-RetroPie-Toolkit/

It seems like it modifies an existing Retropie installation and adds some functionality the author deemed to be useful. I didn't dive deeper into it, because I prefer to use Retropie's own tools as long as they get the job done as well.

Getting my Aimtraks to work with any kind of MAME is my next goal, but at present I can't help much further.

Hopefully this helps you. But for us...

NOT using 5g wifi connection fixed FTP- and other issues- for us. Try 2.4 g instead.

5g is temperamental our experience. Maybe it's all the wireless stuff we have in and around our home and neighborhood that's causing issues... But, we've had experiences with other wireless devices gacking out or choking too (or just stopping working wirelessly), like iPhone, on 5g connections.

    More info, for me:

I tried to set up FTP and it wouldn't work Then, struggling with it, suddenly it did work. Wat...? uh.. ok... Then, it frustratingly suddenly didn't, for an unknown reason. Pi was wiped (for another reason). Then, there was no FTP success for me at all.

And in my struggles after the wipe...

I could ping the Pi from other machines I could SSH into the Pi using its IP address from the Pi itself (ie: 192.160.1.95, or whatever). And I could SSH into 127.0.0.1 from the Pi itself (so SSH worked fine) I added extra FTP ports, just in case (sudo nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config), even odd/high ones just in case (like 44444). And yeah, I restarted ssh process server after the changes. No luck. I checked firewall to make sure nothing else was getting in the way. Then, peak ANGER: my husband could FTP to the pi, but I still couldn't!!! Not with Filezilla, and not with SublimeText SFTP, not with anything. No dice.

Then, out of the blue randomly, he complained that the 5g connection dropped on another unrelated device. That's when I checked my Pi, and there it was, "5G". On our wireless router we have 2 access points: one for 5g, and one for 2.4g. I then switched away from 5g for my connection, over to the 2.4g one instead, and instantly it worked!!

Also, just now as we're literally debugging the whole situation still this very moment, diddling around with 5g vs 2.4g, he told me that when he uses 5g on his Pi (we have two - he has one and i have one), his laptop's connection, which is also on 5g, totally fails and locks up.

Anyway, 5g and the Pi seem to be bad combination... at least that's what we've concluded so far in our efforts.

    So, that's our story.

Are you running the most recent version of Windows 10? They removed all the homegroup stuff back in the spring. Smart move on their part since it would also cause issues with non windows shares.

It may have changed something because when I try to plug in the keyboard after starting the game with it unplugged, the keyboard doesn't do anything.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to include a documentation for the Xbox One controller. For me this thread made the difference from giving up on RetroPi and finding the perfect setup!

~~Just when I thought my issues were fixed....!!

Trying to set up version 2 of this Raspberry Pi - everything is the same as the one discussed above, image from v1 copied and then written to a second SD card and inserted into a second Pi 3B+

As I start it up I'm getting the usual "no gamepad detected" which is fine, I'll live with it, but on v2 only, when I try to map a pad (in this case a second Mega Drive replica, and a brand new out of the box second Mega Drive replica) I cannot map any buttons other than Up, Down, Left, Right, Start and Select.

When I get to button A, I have no response whatever. I thought it might be a faulty controller, but as I've said, also tried it with a one I know works on the original system and get the same issue.

Try rewriting the SD card? Anyway to skip button mapping completely? Something else to try?~~

Ignore. Got it working by changing the input mode of the pad from X input to D input

@WilsonB Hey that is an emulator problem, and you can maybe configure it the dev menu of the emulator right when you are starting any game in MAME you would get a text that says "press any button to go to dev mode'' so I would recommend you try and switch the controller scheme using that menu. I had the same problem with the PSX emulator, and I saw a video by eta prime explaining how to switch the PSX emulator controller scheme to have analog functions.

@cyperghost i will have to check again which game it was, but there was one which was slowing down to 25fps. If i remember correctly it was Road Rash 3D. not sure tho.

but i will setup my xu4 with the guide of the docs, and check if i still encounter these issues.
Honestly, the xu4 was ignored by the recalbox guys now for over a year. the task to rewrite the drivers has been pushed since 1 year from one backlog to the next one.

but i remember seeing an hardkernel dev sharing the mali driver on github for the xu4 for using them. sadly nothing happened.

@BuZz I think it is more like a third seller that uses the the canakit set + RetroPie Image for full setup.

Selling RetroPie install is lame, but what I really dislike with passion are the 16/32/64/128GB full ROMs (or BASIC/SILVER/GOLD/PLATIN images shipped with RetroPie/Recallbox/Lacca ..... whatever you call them)

That's really a shame and the full installs move the RetroPie project into a bad light.

We don't offer support for 3rd party images, especially the ones loaded with ROMs. If you want support here in the forum, start with the RetroPie provided image from retropie.org.uk/download. Otherwise, contact the author of the image and ask for support.
