@jladd1113 Try updating the 4.4 image with the latest OS packages, that would the only difference between the 2 images. If that doesn't work, then you can manually install RetroPie ontop of Raspbian - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Manual-Installation/.

@IanDaemon i found that when I'm in game and I bring up the retroarch menu, I can't move anything in the UI. The cursor will not move with keyboard or controller. I'm stuck there until I hard reset the pi because I have no input. I thought about a reinstall but I spent a lot of time scraping and setting up and I'd hate to have to do it all again.

@VictimRLSH not really enough CPU power, but it has enough GPU power - http://www.raspberrypi.com/mpeg-2-license-key/

then Kodi can play back DVD with hardware acceleration.

@mediamogul said in Did Fix-It Felix ever happen?:

Seeing that Steam Link was merged just a few hours ago, this should allow the Windows version of 'Fix-it Felix Jr.' to be played on the Pi without much hassle. Granted it'll be streaming from a Windows PC, but in all likelihood it may be the only way this particular game and anything like it will ever be playable on the Pi.

Am very much looking to someone somewhere posting a "How to add Steam Link to Retropie for dummies" guide...

    I just followed this guide.
    https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/PS3-Controller

Here are the steps I did (copied from the guide)
Navigate to the "RetroPie" icon in the Home Screen and select it using whatever key you mapped "A" to on your gamepad, and go to RetroPie Setup
Once in the RetroPie GUI, choose [Manage packages] > [driver].
Select PS3 Controller Driver ("ps3controller"), and then select [Install from source].
Once installation completes, exit RetroPie setup and return to the EmulationStation Home Screen.
Press "Start" to enter the EmulationStation Menu, and select Configure Input.
Disconnect your PS3 controller from USB. Now hold the PS button on the controller down until you see the lights on it flash sequentially. The controller should now be connected via Bluetooth.
Emulation Station should now detect another gamepad connected. Hold any button down on the controller to begin configuring it.

The part that is bolded is the part that is not working. My remote was plugged in for an hour so I know it has charge. It just flashes but doesn't actually connect at all.

Unless your space is at an absolute premium, then I have all ROMs unzipped, except FBA and MAME as they MUST be kept zipped

Some emulators don't like zipped files unless a specific version of ZIP was used even if they do support ZIP archives, plus it lets you know if any archives were corrupted

@grant2258 Aliexpress has cheap prices, if you have patience waiting for them to arrive..lol..I have bought some stuff from there for bartop I am in the process of building, but have heard mixed reviews regarding their electronics. My purchases weren't electronic related (speakers..power cord for my amp..and some purchases for my woman). Just wanted to comment about the long waits..haha.

@Krisu Please open a new topic explaining your problem and adding the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. Don't bump old topics just because they're marginally related to your question.

I seem to have fixed this. I found a page (here) with a few extra instructions on suppressing various messages. I haven't implemented them all but it seems the one or two I have added have done the trick! I'd already added one or two of these as per the excellent Retropie docs, but the extra bits here seem to have done the trick. Been mashing about the menu for a couple of hours, and rebooted several times and so far it has not returned.

Thanks for your help. Thrilled to get it working so nice! :-)

Yes, I figured out about nesting layers, so I got the alignment working.
I couldn't get the resizing of the wheel.png to work the way I wanted, so I just adjusted the 'box' so that it worked for the tallest wheel.png when they were all adjusted by width.
It's not totally perfect but with such a variance in wheel.png sizes and shapes I think it looks pretty uniform.

Now to run it on all the other systems and hope it comes out OK.

Edit: Just tweaked the box so rather than having its own border in the png it just uses the stroke feature to match the border on the screen shot.

Not thrilled with the banding that gets introduced with skyscraper.

@martinbaker2727 Mouse issues in ScummVM were resolved with the release of version 2.0. As you are running an old version of RetroPie which runs on Jessie, for which support is no longer available, I would recommend that you start with the latest 4.4 image.

A virtual keyboard should be available in the latest version of ScummVM. It can be activated by button 7 on your controller, which, I understand, is the Guide button. If the virtual keyboard is not available, then try installing ScummVM from source.

The ScummVM in-game menu is only available with a button press for Lucas Arts titles. For other titles, it can be accessed by pressing CTRL+F5. According to the manual, in Zork The Grand Inquisitor, there are options to save, restore and quit in the Center Bar, accessed by moving your cursor to the top of screen.

@dam034 I don't use it, so I don't know the answers to these questions. You can look up in the official PCSX2 docs though - https://pcsx2.net/getting-started.html.

Look in the Docs page of the system to see what ROM extensions are accepted by the emulator and make sure you use the same format. The RetroPie image comes with the Mupen64plus installed, so it should be enough to copy the ROMs in the n64 folder and restart Emulationstation.

I remember playing N64 games on my 2004 laptop and I got great performance, so I would hope the support is fairly strong now.

Not so much, N64 is far from perfect and not all games are running well.

I mapped the C-Down button to A, the A button to B, and the B button to Y.
