Apart from the Pixel method, @zmanblue could boot a Raspbian installation image from USB. He may have to enable the USB boot mode on his Pi first.

@mrbloo Your Linux install (OSMC) doesn't seem to contain the PS3 drivers. What's the kernel version on your OSMC ? What's the output of dmesg | tail after you plug in your controller ?

@hellasius said in Neo geo Rom weird graphics:

A small other question, is there any way to avoid the green screen when starting a neogeo rom?

No, this is present in original hardware. I know there is a trick to hide it, perhaps i'll look into it the day there won't be things more important to do in the emulator, which means probably never. I don't mind if someone try to add a core option for this and make a PR though.

@AndersHP no, unibios has it too.

Manage to solve it, for some reason the default hotkey combination isn't working via LR-MAME2010 (or doesn't for me) so I went back and set a manual hotkey on the PS3 compatible joypad and it now works. The same joypad worked fine with the default hotkey config previously

I am using cardcrazy as theme but even if i change to the basic theme it is stuttering..not directly but if i am scrolling around through the systems a bit. I think the onboard gfx has no seperat ram.. its shared.. ok, will try to switch off the videos and check the vsync.. but as on raspi i cant find a config.txt file for trying some tweaking. On Pi i had once after an update probs in the menu and was able to fix it with adding the line gpu_mem=256.
Could it be that it has something to do with the 64bit Version of Mint? I think retropie in gerneral is a 32bit application.. ?

It will likely require reworking of the RetroPie module script. It's still on my to-do list :-)

I don't know what causes the SD cards to fail all of the sudden but the two I've had fail wound up having a hairline split in them and folded in half when I played with them. I don't know if it's from heat and then taking them out and putting stress on them but both failures were physical damage

@jthomas5150 The RetroArch version (1.7.3) that is installed with 4.4 now includes a patch for the issue, so the script should work fine.
I would make a backup of your old SD card image anyways.

@spud11 I am using the "Filemanager" menu option now. I created a bash script to test how runcommand worked.

But, if as you said, I can create a bash script to invoke joy2key and then mc, I might as well do that.

I did not expect that this kind of change would be so difficult to make :(

Yeah those are good enough for me, both work great with trackball.

I think the newer GT's need mame2010+ never had much luck on the pi with that.

@MattyL42 You prob don't need to replace anything like dank said, this was from a couple years ago but it did fix my problem. Just send the info of your setup so someone can help you further.

Here was the old thread for reference.

@koogelpotato The forum rules forbid sharing ROMs/games or other kind of copyrighted material. This is not that kind of forum.
Since it's the 2nd time this happened, you'll get a temporary ban.

@mitu said in Snes9x2010 No video, Audio only:

    /dev/shm/runcommand.log

I know what happened now. Considering I just moved back. I had it originally hooked up to a PC LCD monitor, that's must of triggered incorrect video input. I removed current state video settings and chose default retropie settings. I'm HAPPY Now, thank you. Currently using an HDTV. I want to update to Stretch, but going to wait a few more months. I already heard about people trying update to Stretch and causing a bit of mess.

I will talk about the neogeo video issue soon when I get better. Overall neogeo works, but very picky what's going on, it just scrolls awkward, just imagine a tray of domino square pieces moving from left to right.

I did choose to enable "Verbose logging" like you said and nothing really happened no video signal message that tv usually says.

Hello, I have not setup N64 in a while, but I remember there being an “AutoConfig” file of some sort that would overwrite my manual changes.

I was able to update that file and it no longer imposes it’s will upon my setup. That may or may not apply to your GPIO setup but it is worth a look.

EDIT: Totally missed your reference to that file. Sorry. I do believe that is the culprit though...

Hmm, I tried to plug in the keyboard but it doesn't seem to be working either, looks like it is the USB connection that's bugging out. Not sure what could be causing this, since none of the wires are shorting with each other, but I'll ask about it on the Adafruit forums. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

@pingywon I can tell you the 8bitdo SN30 and N30 have the slightly aggravating northwest kernel problem.
