    @jimi007 said in Speedball 2 CD32 DOS error 103 not enough memory:

    Z3_RAM=16

    Thanks @Jimi007. I've merged the change and added more Z3. On the next xml update (usually end of week) it should be taken into account.

    @jamrom2 thank you so much for trying to help me. it seems 5200 emulation just isn't in the cards for me.

    I actually found the old image had backed up on a card in a drawer. I booted it up and 5200 worked without a hitch. I figured, jackpot, I'll just transfer the settings and configs to my current image. no dice.

    short of finding a pre-converted 5200 romset somewhere I don't think it's going to work out.

    @jimmyfromthebay If you're into computers as long as I (starting with a Commodore 64 in the mid eighties), cables are among the first ususal suspects for any kind of strange effects. πŸ‘ΎπŸ‘»πŸ’©

    Glad that it worked for you. Have fun with RetroPie!

    Okay then. At the very least the info in the thread should help me out.

    No hard feelings BTW.

    @jimi007 Ok, so, I was an OG Amiga user. I had a 500, 2000, and a 3000. Amiga was made long before any console has force feedback of any kind. So, why would there be any vibration response in any Amiga game ever?

    I guess I am trying to figure out why you are expecting vibration from a system that never had it. It just seems on par with expecting stereo surround sound from an Atari 2600.

    @roslof @mitu

    Thanks for exploring this one - I assumed that my RetroPie upgrade had overwritten my retroarch.cfg files. The advice here has fixed my missing shaders in my install (a 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS install).

    Running and updating the setup script, navigating
    P Manage packages
    C Core
    43 Retroarch
    U Re-install (from source)
    has fixed the problem for me.

    Hotkey is set during initial controller configuration. You should be able to have a different one for every (type of) controller you use. Configure additional controllers through the EmulationStation start menu.

    Edit: oh but I guess you want to do this only for NES, so the shoulder button still works when using the SNES controller for SNES games... maybe not so simple then. The docs do say that hardcoded configurations are "locked to a specific core and controller," but in the example they give, I don't see anything that does tie it to a specific controller.

    In 1.9.4 you can selectively disable the notifications shown on screen, so you could remove the messages shown on startup by adding

    notification_show_remap_load = "false" notification_show_config_override_load = "false" notification_show_autoconfig = "false" notification_show_set_initial_disk = "false"

    to /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg.

    @linkseo
    my two cents. Work on ARKOS which uses full version of Retroach...

    Hi all, I tried many ways to Save and have persistent HotKey binds. AN dthe only way I was able to get it persistent, even after retroarch reboots and new confirg saves, over rides is to add the values on the retroarch.cfg. and for good measure I also pasted my values in CORE and Folder Remaps and core cfg. IE NES.cfg and Nestopia.cfg (remaps on like nes.rmp) I think that last part is overkill,, but I tried everithing and this is now working so overkill made it.
    here are my confiig for my Ambernic rg351p running ARKOS?

    input_hold_fast_forward_axis = "23"
    input_hold_slowmotion_axis = "24"
    input_rewind = "26"
    input_save_state = "20"
    input_state_slot_decrease = "h0left"
    input_state_slot_increase = "h0right"
    input_shader_prev = "h0down"
    input_shader_next = "h0up"

    Hope it helps. The H0 values are for the left D-pad. That took a while to figure out.

  • Can you download ROMs directly to the SD card?

    If the Pi has internet access, you can use wget on RetroPie's command line to download files directly to the sd card. See here for one of the countless wget guides on the web.

    To go to the command line, pressF4 in Emulation Station. To go back to Emulation Station, enter exitor press Ctrl+d.

    You can write the RetroPie image directly to the drive and boot from it - assuming your PI has USB boot enabled. If USB boot is not enabled, then you'll need a sdcard to run Raspberry Pi OS and enable it from raspi-config.

    You can do that, but you'll need to script it using from the onstart runcommand script.

    @mitu deleting the file didn't change how CEA-5 acts (or any 1080P option), but it did seem to clear up the default video mode from launching in a small window.
