    Hey guys,

Thanks for the response. I formatted the SD card again and reloaded retropie. Still had the same problem so what I did was removed my wireless playstation controllers and plug my hard drive in a different usb port (because it wouldn't boot up without the hard drive in) this time I had a different error message. I turned it off, unplugged the usb then turned it back on without the USB and then everything was back to normal. It's bizarre, but I'm glad everything is back to normal.

    Thanks for your help!

@lilbud said in Is a text carousel possible?:

@jdrassa I'm not sure if this was you or not, but someone on this forum had the idea to allow the changing of the carousels origin. So the selected logo could be in the center, or to the left of the screen.

Do you know who had the idea?

It wasn't my idea, but I am working on it.

@lilbud said in Is a text carousel possible?:

@meleu I think those are images of text, which is sadly not what I'm after. I'm looking to make something along the lines of this. Where the carousel is all text, no images, and it is a different font for the selected one as compared to the non-selected systems

@meleu is correct. The "favorites" and "last played" all rendered as text in carbon. They are not images. You can now set the font and color that the text is rendered, but you can not specify a different font for the selected one.

post your "uname -a" If you've updated recently, you're probably running 4.9.xx as the kernel. And I was running that, plus RetroPie 4.2.13. the gamecondriver does not appear to work with this combo.

@zaphod42 For PSX games you have to have them extracted because the emulator reads .pbp, .iso, and .bin/.cue so if you want to play your games you have to extract the files.

@urbandarkknight The Pi3 needs a 2.5A PSU anyways which even says in the link you posted and also there are some SD cards that doesn't work which you should let us know which one you have or showing us in a image because sometimes you could of bought a knock off card as well which does tend to be faulty and will not work.
If you want one that works great and all i would suggest getting this one cause i used that on my Pi (32gb version) for about a month till i ended up getting a SanDisk Ultra 64gb card (because all the games i own that i play on my Pi comes to 38gb) and normally for those errors it is usually the SD card and not the power source as for the power you would get a little lightning bolt icon on the top right hand corner letting you know that you're not using enough power.

Strange...I installed it myself just last night. Not sure what the problem my be.

I would like to warn you however..When I used it it made my setup "crash" (drop to the command line) when i tried to change the theme. I was trying to change the theme because my video snaps were not playing (had sound though) I eventually took it out. I would like to have it and hte team to work on it..I get tired of sitting around and "making sure that someone (kids, wife, friends) screw something up sigh

I'm not sure the actual C64 saved highscores. I don't remember mine doing so.

Best bet would be to do a save-state and load from there.

I don't believe hot-keys work for save-states because vice is not a librettro emulator.

You might be able to press Alt-S on a keyboard to save, but I have not tried it yet.

@ethan8r Do you really want to play Retropie games on a tablet through the USB port? Think how bad the lag would be. In order for you to use the tablet as monitor consider these:

Most USB ports on tablets are for charging the battery. They do not take in information from other source other than through WIFI. Those that do, the video information from RPI has to be translated to USB data either through hardware/software hackery wizardry. Then you will need an application on the tablet to properly re-translate the information back to video. These translations would no doubt introduce delays and lags in game playing time.

@argii Glad to hear that the Moslo utility worked for you.

MS-DOS uses a 8.3 file name convention so, as @edmaul69 explained, will shorten long names. I would suggest using the TAB key to auto complete file names. In your example, you can type PTO (I usually type the first three characters) at the DOS prompt, hit TAB, then the the file name will auto complete to PTOMB1.EXE. If you hit TAB again, then DOS will cycle through other possibilities, PTOMB2.EXE, PTOMB3.EXE and so on. This also works on the Linux command line. For example, if you want to launch Emulationstation from the terminal, you can type emu, hit TAB, then command will auto complete to emulationstation.

If you are struggling with the DOSBox config files and creating launch scripts, then I would suggest checking out the DOSBox tutorials: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/PC/#tutorials

Regards the -c "cycles=150", then you can add that to theptomb.conf config file. In line 83, change cycles=max to cycles=fixed 150.
