NES doesn't require BIOS, unless you're talking about FDS ?

but in any case, games not loading on standard retropie is something we can support and help you with, but pre-installed cards is something we cannot, so please don't purchase another of those :)

games of cd32 are only in cue or iso
for me in that solution work ;)

@iandaemon The Pi4 does let you rotate in 90 degree increments, though it is nowhere near as simple to do so as on previous generations of Pi. After a couple of days of fiddling, I have Emulation station and Retroarch rotated 90 degrees and (finally) filling the screen. I don’t have the setup menus rotated yet, though. At least on the MAME games I have checked so far, there are no obvious performance issues in doing it.

@windg this, or just disable the "joystick control" part so you can still access the menu via an attached keyboard when needed, but players can't accidentally (or maliciously) do it with their gamepad.

I changed it to:

Too many folders are created with the first option.

Also, be sure to make the necessary location changes in these:

# path to RCLONE rclonePath="/home/pi/rclone-v1.39-linux-arm/rclone" # local base directory for your saves localPath="/home/pi/RetroPie/saves" # remote directory for your saves, has to be configured via "rclone config" first remotePath="dropbox:RetroArch"

One thing to mention, if for some reason your Retropie is offline, your system will freeze and you will need to power it off.

Just to add some more context, the issue appears to be concentrated around the core option lightgun type that most of these libretro emulators possess. When set to "lightgun," the issue arises. When set to "touch screen," the aiming issue goes away. However, auxiliary gun buttons don't work in this mode, and lr-flycast doesn't even have this core option.

I also downgraded from RetroArch 1.9.7 to 1.9.4 (which had working lightgun support on my pi3B) after I read that lightgun support was not working in 1.9.7. All of the above files reflect the 1.9.4 downgrade.

@mfraz74 Looks like Debian doesn't package the 8bitdo-tool or it's included in a plugin, but I haven't used fwupd so far, so I can't offer more details. Try using the macOS updater to install the latest (4.20 I think) version of the firmware.

It's working okay now all things considered. I'm surprised at how well the scaling works as on the raspbian + retropie the text is harder to see and the borders are a bit off even in the terminal. I should try to copy retropie's font to my other sd cards with raspbian + retropie on them to make the console more visible

Glad you got it sorted out, actually RetroPie is using Raspbian (RPI OS) Lite underneath, so there's no specific font that's included in RetroPie.

Maybe the borders' position have something to do with the Overscan settings for the display ? Or you may try to increase the font size from the Setup script, as explained here ?

@johna4242 I had the same issue on a new setup with a Pi 3B+. I had to replace mame2000_libretro.so using an old file from another Retropie Setup from a year ago and it works OK.

Current lr-mame2000 doesn't work (segfaults).
