The underlying Linux operating system that RetroPie runs on top of is intrinsically multiuser.
You only need a free TeleTYpe program (I recomment putty for Windows) to gain access from your laptop in the same way as WinSCP does to move files.

Username pi - Password raspberry
The pi user does NOT have administrator rights, but the 'run as super user' keyword "sudo" can be used in front of any commands that needs them (no admin password required).

Make the terminal window as big as you need and use the nano editor to change configurations.

-Sega Rally - Ran great
-Kiss Psycho Cirus - Ran around in the first room but seemed to be fine!
-Puzzle Bobble 4 - Playable but with a bit of slow down (it seems so simple too...)
-Super Runabout - Seemed to be full speed but with intermittent stutter.

Well I finally found another image viewer that lets me specify something to display on the second hdmi port: vlc!

But although it worked fine on FKMS, nothing showed up when I ran it with KMS... not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if that is expected.

If you want to fully disable the power button, then check the manual for this case. It describes a hardware jumper that can be set to fully disable the power button. Power will always flow to the RPi4B board.

By setting the jumper to pin 2-3, the device will be in always on mode.

@baconbandage Run the following command - with the gamepad plugged in - and post the output

cat /proc/bus/input/devices

Try testing the gamepad with the jstest utility. Exit EmulationStation and run

jstest /dev/input/js0

You should get a listing with the gamepad's input types (buttons/joysticks/etc.) and you can press the buttons/D-Pad/move joysticks to see if they are registering. You can exit the test by pressing Ctrl+C.

Its always the last thing. Must have had some kind of hardware issue. reflashing my ssd has solved any issues. no idea what the original cause was. Some random little glitch is my guess. I was trying to avoid reflashing because of how far along I was in config, but backed it up and restoring it now that the controllers are all working. They did the correction in flycast and not lr-flycast for now. I don’t think you need to change your rom or states.

retropie also has a documentation about clrmamepro, which allows to ascertain the romset is compatible with the emulator instead of trying random romsets...

I'll stick with a permanent preference for the PS2 version.
It's a game from 2000, yet the Graphics are The Tip of Everest!
Too bad PS2 Emulation is a train-wreck that's yet to be cleared up.

Ok, I could solve it. There must have been a problem with IPv6, deactivating it solved the problem as in this thread:

@yfzdude thank you for replying, I feel that I do have to research/find other methods of transferring ROMs to my Pi/RetroPie though than this flashdrive, because frankly I've had more flashdrives fail than MicroSDs! (blame the amount of moving parts I guess...).

Probably yes, but you could ask the author of the RetroPie CRT Ed. for confirmation to know which systems it supports.

@tiberboi The 2 GB is more than good enough. Like I said - you'll never use more than one.
Take the extra money and spend it on a fan, heat sinks, a strong power supply and a case. You'll get your moneys worth.
