      @doctorstork I don't think anyone is bullying - perhaps some joking around due to frustration, but this is due to the way you originally posted.

      I accept that you were genuinely looking for help, but it did come across originally that you hadn't read any of the documentation. When registering we ask you to read a post which details information you should provide before posting, and you didn't provide any of that.

      We also have had a lot of trolling in the past - I appreciate that you were not intentionally trying to be difficult, but it did come across that way earlier on.

      We have a lot of people asking the same questions over and over again, and most of the time it is because they have not read the instructions before installing, or the guidance before posting. And probably because they have purchased retropie from an unscrupulous seller who was quick to take their money.

      Hang around here, and you will appreciate the time everyone puts in to help others. My post count is in the thousands, and it's all answering user questions, and unfortunately mostly posting the read me first link again and again.

      Your are welcome here - but we don't have time to continually re-iterate the information we have already painstakingly documented. Stay a while, perhaps share some of what you have learnt with others, and you will have a better understanding of the project.

      Cheers.

      @obsidianspider The theme is called NBBA using scraped images from screenscraper.fr which were scraped with universal xml scraper. :)

      Computer monitor, for the sold reason that TV's only come in 16:9 ratio anymore, and old games are 4:3 and look best on that shape of monitor (so you don't get weird stretching or black bars). You can get really nice 4:3 and 5:4 ratio monitors on PCliquidations.com for pretty cheap.

      @Rion
      That did the trick! I feel kinda silly. It froze the first time I messed with it, so I didn't think to try it again. Bumping it up to 40 or 60hz, saving the game override, and resetting completely fixed a super slow laggy part.

      I'm curious to know how this works.

      Thanks for your reply.

      It works! I tried to uninstall everythink and followed the steps. This time I was succesful.

      Thanks for your help

      When you say that you "uninstalled everything" are you talking about uninstalling/reinstalling RetroPie and everything as well? Or just the ControlBlock stuff?

      Mine was working fine, and then stopped and is behaving exactly as you describe. I tried removing all the ControlBlock stuff and reinstalling but the problem persists. The only thing I can think of is to do a clean install of the entire OS...I just really don't look forward to going through all of that again.

      Another added to the collection this evening. Quite a poor quality UK scan, so pleased with how it came out:

      alt text

      alt text

      I recreated the logo in Illustrator too. I did create a second vector to use as a white drop shadow on the logo, as I was working on the logo from a US box originally-didn't realise there was no white drop shadow on the UK box until I'd finished. I added the drop shadow filter in PS, which doesn't make it as dark as the original as you can still see some of the white, but I don't think it looks too bad. And, you don't really see the box blown up full screen anyway, so I'm not too fussed. I dropped the really badly placed screen shot too, it's not uniform to the other UK boxes and looks so out of place-i think it looks better without it.

      It's not 100% accurate-time will tell if I can live with the differences or not!

      :: Edit::

      Yeah, couldn't leave it. Done it with the black drop shadow-I think it works better:

      The steps described in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/post/53840 worked for me to reduce input lag on the SNES30/SN30. I'm looking for a way to make the changes permanent.

      @Aksen https://github.com/dborth/snes9xgx/issues/66

      if this is the same slowdown your experiencing, it's as per the original game.

      ah, okay. I'm not surprised the original game had slowdowns in areas with lots of sprites, but I'm also getting it (along with crackly audio) in the fullscreen menus. If that's in the original game, then my emulation is running fine and I'm happy, but the slowdown in the menus may be a different issue:

      @rbaker
      As in playing the roms for consoles outside of the zip file as opposed to inside the zip.

      MAME roms have remain zipped due to the game actually being multiple files workign in tandem. While roms for home consoles are single files held in a zip compression, and can be played either zipped or unzipped.

      @dankcushions said in Any performance difference for playing console un-zipped roms?:

      i guess it might take 0.1 seconds to load the whole thing into ram rather than 0.2 seconds :)

      Yea, I assumed the whole program was running from ram instead of constantly referencing the compressed file... but wasn't sure, so I thought I'd ask here if there was a performance difference.

      Though I've had seen some threads on reddit talking about how certain games only seem to run when not zipped.

      @MWGemini said in Playing Console Combined Rom Packs? (SNES, GEN, NES):

      You can also put things in subfolders. So I might have all my Mario games in NES\Super Mario Brothers and SNES\Super Mario World, for example. That way I can see all the variants within a particular game, but at the root level, I'm just looking at the "base" game name. It makes scraping a little bit more difficult, but that's a different issue.

      Thank you!
      No I went back and grabbed a NO INTRO set, since there would be less/no redundant files this way.

      One thing you can do to further reduce your no intro set of its redundancy, is produce a "1g1r" set from it (1 game, 1 region). If you download the appropriate P/clone xml DAT (from here http://datomatic.no-intro.org/?page=download&fun=xml ) and load it into Romcenter 3.7.1, you can point it to your rom directory and have it keep only a single version of each game based on your ordered preference of regions.

      I assume you mean the N64 version and it runs pretty will on my Pi 3 without any overclocking using the mupen64plus-GLideN64 emulator. I haven't tried it on any of the other emulators.

      Here is the N64 Compatibility Sheet:

      @Windall where it says it there is a text box (under the edit box) for entering a tag. A tag is like a keyword to describe your post. eg controller for a controller related post (you can use multiple tags).

      I made the box and label on paint.net before printing them and and gluing them on cardboard paper, then I folded it like a snes box.

      The cartridge was a soccer game that I sacrificed for the process(nobody will miss it tho). I removed the previous label to glue the new one on it.

      I obtained another ROM. I realized that retroachievements showed "bad rom pile" on their website when I loaded the old file.
