@dankcushions O thanks that's very helpful. I really had my eyes set on the ps1 styled 20th anniversary ds4 controller, but that color layout is only available as a V1..so that could still be an option. (I prefer wired.)

I fixed my problem with the Y cable. The savestate are more faster, but it long.... So I have mounted my external hard drive manually by editing the fstab. All works but with Y cable only.

@ortsac I'm unsure (bought it as 'for spares or repair' from eBay) but presumably it's possible to change it?

@space-cadet So you soldered the LED directly onto the Mausberry circuit, rather than put it back to its original location? Thanks for letting me know, I wish the Mausberry website made that clear (!). I couldn't see any mention of de-soldering on their website.

In case anyone searches this in the future...

Go into ScummVM and navigate to Options >> Paths and change the path location to whatever you'd like. For me it was ./roms/ScummVM/saves/. To recover your previous saves, navigate to /opt/configs/retropie/ScummVM/saves/ with a program like Filezilla and copy them to the desktop then move them to your USB for example. Another option would be to, in the command line, use the mv -i /opt/retropie/configs/ScummVM/saves ./roms/ScummVM/saves/ for example.

I just thought you should know that there are several discussions active right now on the topic of shutdown scripts. Most of my work recently has been related to the Mausberry circuit, a little PCB that goes on the USB port and hooks into GPIO to trigger safe shutdown. You can do something similar without the circuit, but the Mausberry adds the ability to truly cut power.

I did not look at the video you linked above, but you might also find a little software package called GPIOnext interesting. This is the evolution of GPIOneer, a GPIO button handler/driver created by mholgatem. I use GPIOneer, but I will be replacing/upgrading. My buttons that use it include volume control as well as safe shutdown.

@herb_fargus Retropie Newb here. Was having the same issue with scraper stopping when screensaver came on. Tried the scraper you recommended and got a quick error about installation not being valid. Now when I run the Retropie scraper, one database, TheArchive, races through yielding no matches and TheGamesDB now moves 2-3 per minute and finds nothing. How do I restore my scraper without scraping my Retropie?
