@mitu So I tried that just now it actually caused a 20 second delay in the start up process. So I reverted the changes and I've actually just disabled the usbmount services manually and added a line in fstab to mount /dev/sda1 as a work around. Now it boots normally every time.

Yes. It was that. Changed back the bluetooth connect mode to default and is solved. It was in background mode because my SNES30 joystick was temperamental about connecting with Retropie.

I did an update from the the old Retropie version rather than a new install. And maybe because that the bug still present.

I just did some tests and the culprit seems to be my 4K TV screen. I've got no problem on my 1440p PC monitor.

Try updating Retropie-Setup and then re-installing drastic.

lr-opera worked on Lemmings with Player 1 as the mouse, it didn't occur to me to try Player 2 for Sega CD.

@melbmatt50 I thought you already used the configuration editor to set those options ?
Anyway, you can find it in Retropie-Setup, under 'Configuration/tools' - see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Configuration-Editor/.
You can go into the Advanced Configuration -> Configure Libretro options, choose which core (or all if you want all cores), then in the list choose to configure input_player1_analog_dpad_mode - from there you can configure which joystick (left/right) to control the D-pad.

There was a fix to Daphne by @werpu one and a half year ago (see here). It added a command line option -joynum followed by the controllers system index number, e.g. 0 or 1 to set the controller being used.

It isn't clear to me, though, if the number is the joystick index (jsX) or the event index (eventX). So, here the commands to show both of them:

evtest # lists all devices connected to an event jstest /dev/input/js0 # change 0 to 1, 2, 3 etc. to see the device using it. Exit with Ctrl-c.

I did install that and it worked when there is one dual tank stick in there. When there is two dual tanksticks connected, the 2nd one that is connected behaves as a keyboard and not as a controller. that is why i want the second one to work like a keyboard that's acting like a controller if that makes sense

I have tried to use ffmpeg to record alsa sound but since there is no capture device . It did not work .

Can you give more details about this

You can try looking into streaming the sound from ALSA through ffmpeg and connecting something like vlc on the PC to stream the audio.

My method in previous post does not guarantee sync in audio and video recording at all . So it is not an ideal solution.
Streaming audio will be a better solution as I will record audio and video on PC together.

@UberLumby You can adjust the volume just for the pcengine system by editing the retroarch.cfg in \\retropie\configs\pcengine and adding a line with the audio_volume option:

audio_volume = -1.00

Mea Culpa.
I am running original image. I think I ran a 3rd party image at one time, which caused the retropie-mount to set up all these extra folders.
I did a complete reinstall also with a new usb stick and it looks good.

@gmesmer Sorry, totally forgot about this. I'm away from my Pi tonight but I'll do that tomorrow.

Edit: I've done that now, doesn't even load up. Just black screen then back to Emulation Station.
