Hi, i am having the same problem but i don't have access to a pc to create the SD card.

i have downloaded the berry boot image to my pi and i have got an SD card reader

Is there a way to do this from the raspberry pi itself? i have tried recalbox but it just isn't as good as retropie

I already have all the required BIOS files. I just wasn't aware of the 32x-CD bring implemented yet as I couldn't find any definitive information.

@jell no. You can change video mode - and if your TV can switch based on that, then maybe. But the rpi can't specifically control various TV model settings.

It's from within, via the RetroPie menu.

EDIT Looks like it got past the stall by exiting ES and running the setup manually. Might be something to add to the setup script when updating ES to say something like "This must be ran outside of ES."

Thank you for the reply, appreciate it. I think I have a faulty controller, It worked once on OpenEMU as I tried it on that to see if that worked, but after just showing up once in settings it no longer does. I think i'll have to try a new N64 pad I think :(

@journeyman when binding the 'start' button will be your p1 start, and the select button will be your coin button. i don't know any shootemups that use more than 4 buttons.

Update for any future google searchers. I installed Ubuntu 16.04 and everything is working fine, I don't have a particular need to be on 17.04 but it would be nice to know why it is having issues for me. I'm still open to suggestions but in the meantime I’ll stick with 16.04 for now.

I did another install run to get the log files and it installed. No idea what changed but it's working fine now. Thanks for your help anyway.

@pjft Thanks! I am using 8bitdo FC30s, and in all my searching, somehow never came across that thread. Will look into it! My benchmark was being able to play Mike Tyson's Punchout, although in reality I could never beat that game even when I was a kid :)

@nowarrivinghere i never got it to ever work either. Advmess is a pain and i only got a handful of systems running on that one.
