@mitu I decided to use the Ace with my PS4 instead (it works fine right out of the box on PS4) and use the dualshock controllers for retropie. However, even those I can't successfully pair with retropie. I will write a separate post.

@mitu I would like to use all three modes for what they are intended for :
Full mode : all options, all games available including experimental
Kiosk mode : options restricted, all clean games avaiable
Kid mode : more options restricted, mature content excluded

My only problem is the method to add kidgame tags in scraped gamelists that doesn't have, without scraping again all data.

Maybe some users here have scripts to add hundred "<kidgame>true</kidgame>" in gamelists ? Then it will be easy for me to uncheck few mature games from emulationstation metadata editing menu.

Or maybe there is a secret feature in an emulationstation cfg file, or a trick, to consider a game that doesn't have a kidgame tag to be a kidgame by default.

Otherwise with Notepad++ I can replace all the

</game>

by

</kidgame>true</kidgame> </game>

You don't have EmulationStation installed - you either didn't install it or the installation failed (look in $HOME/RetroPie-Setup/logs for installation logs).

I think this is already covered. Under Additional Setup Options it says:

and it has a link to where the usage of the setup script to install/update packages is described.

Did I understood your sentence wrong or is it another link you'd like to be added under the Additional Setup Options ? BTW, we don't advertise any Free Games anywhere, though some ports include either the full or the demo/shareware verison when it's freely available (e.g. FreeDoom when installing Doom, Descent/Quake shareware version, OpenTyrian full version, etc.)

@mitu hello again, I was finally able to connect my DOBE-TNS-19252C after many attempts. In case anyone is having the same problem, the adapter Mayflash Magic-NS-2 did the trick in my case. I connected the controller to the adapter and the adapter to the Rpi, all via USB, and it worked like a charm. I was able to configure the input of my controller without a problem.

Regarding the problem with Joycons, and in case it is of help, I’m using clones and not the official ones. I tried connecting them while booting and afterwards, both without success.

Yes.

You'll have to manually build it as explained in the ScummVM Wiki, skipping the dependencies part since they are already installed by RetroPie.
Alternatively you can modify the scummvm.sh module in RetroPie-Setup sources and change the version for the source installation.

It would be nice if i could just uninstall what i have and then log- in to some site that could automatically download and compile the 2.8.1 binary for me.

That would be super convenient, though I think what you're actually looking for is a Windows system, where this kinds of 'compile from source' options are not needed.

You can't use the runcommand menu for verbose logging since that's only available for the libretro cores, but you can:

Look in the log file - /dev/shm/runcommand.log - and note the command line used to execute the emulator Copy the command used and then run it manually, outside of EmulationStation, appending the --verbose parameter so you get extra information printed during execution.

It freezes every time I load it with verbose logging. Very weird.

@mem-com I had the github password problem with other scripts but not with xboxdrv. I don't know how to bypass this.

I was able to get into the actual Quick Menu then into Core Options. Changed language.
