    it may seem harsh but the bottom line is that you do need to read the documentation - it is VERY comprehensive and will answer any queries you have. Your question was too open-ended to be answered in a post and the very best answer that anyone could give was to read the docs.

    A short answer is that Dreamcast is one of the many systems that works with Pi, but you do need to understand what a BIOS is and why it is needed. When you understand this then you will be able to make loads more emulators work properly by yourself, and every little bit of knowledge will make using retropie easier.

    Using a Pi isn't like switching a phone on and everything works great with little interaction, one of the best things about it is that it requires effort to learn, you will get masses of help here but firstly need to try and help yourself.

    As for a list of supported emulators, there is one here...

    I've had my PI 3 running for 93 days without ever shutting down. Emulation Station goes into a dimmed mode after a few minutes. What that does for power consumption, I don't know.

    4 hours since last play system temperature is 42c. We have 21c in house. I don't have a heat sink, but I haven't attached the top lid either.

    The nice thing about having it running 24x7 is that is gets out of dimmed mode nicely by pushing the X-button on the Xbox 360 controller and you're good to go...

    additionally, lr-snes9x-next is the old name for lr-snes9x2010 (i think). that was changed ages ago so you're using a quite old version of retropie. we can't really support that.

    well i just tried my wifi card on all three usb ports, and it can see the network without issues, so all three usb ports must be functioning.
    I tried a confirmed working keyboard, and two confirmed working gamepads and they arent detected, not in a fresh instal or in the one with the GPIO keyboard.

    very strange. I will open a new thread on this subject with a better title in the hope of getting some help.

    Hi @hhandsmt

    That sounds like normal behaviour. When you complete the setup, there are no other systems visible until you upload roms for the games to your Pi.

    @mwight Seems like you messed up a lot...
    Go into the retropie-setup menu and update all packages... This should reinstall the emulators
    Other wise: save configs/roms and reinstall...

    @spruce_m00se

    is there a BIOS file for the 800?

    The required BIOS files are listed here.

    Edit: Be sure not to enable the 'save on exit' option, as it will corrupt your config file when exiting.

    @chipsnblip Thanks.

    I suspect @thief122 would hopefully be able to provide more feedback as to whether this is something he'd use and how, given that the use case was brought up by him :)

    In terms of the overall approach, I think that it's always positive to set up a GitHub project for anything you'd do that's on the creative/technical side. It's good for learning and sharing above all. It'll also help you get feedback - and even help - from other people who are interested in the same problem, as well as thinking about how to bring it to the wider audience. So yeah, I would recommend that, should you be interested in investing time in this. Not sure at what stage you are, and where do you see this heading - as well as whether this solution is something that people would in general use. Definitely getting feedback from the end users would help!

    I suppose the key thing in all of these projects is that a) this is a problem that you are keen in exploring and solving, and b) that you're having fun along the process :)

    My comment on the layout was just an option, as I was thinking about the problem. Indeed, right now it's just rendered on top of the game, which may (or may not) be ideal for those who will use it. That's kind of why I thought of using the wide screen real estate, but you may be right, it might not work on a smaller screen, or if the game is stretched! Well spotted.

    I think there was a similar thread to this a while ago, though I can't find it. Might be interesting to see if this is indeed something more people would like to have and how, and maybe take it from there if you're keen to!

    Best of luck.

    @outahere91 might be. I have noticed that you can get interesting results from changing the digital speed as well,as sensitivity. I am still never certain which one I should adjust, but I usually start with sensitivity.

    I just realized that I also have a faster poll rate set for my mouse.
    --that might make the difference. It basically magnifies the samples per second to reduce digital "backspin". I bet that's why.

    @krupper is your controller maped as a joystick (-> axis) or as dpad (-> buttons)?
    If your joystick is maped to axis than you might want to add these lines to the input config of mame:

    input_player1_analog_dpad_mode = 1 input_player2_analog_dpad_mode = 1 input_player3_analog_dpad_mode = 1 input_player4_analog_dpad_mode = 1

    This maps the joystick axis of the (left) joystick to the dpad of player 1..
    If you have 2 joysticks and want to map each one for a seperate player use the value 2 for player 2... if you only have 2 players remove player3 and player4
    Play around with that (if your joysticks are mapped as joysticks!)
