@lilbud Try going into the Retropie Setup and manually turning on the USB ROM service and reboot. (You may have already, but it doesn't hurt to try it again.)

A bad name in the CUE file has bitten me in the past. I often forget that the name has to match the BIN file, and it's case sensitive on Linux.

How would I change the privileges of the file? Just in case I want to make some changes later on in life.

@rridenour Once you get a better feel for the way each version of MAME relies upon a corresponding (and different) romset, you may reconsider using the Arcade folder. As you figured out, it isn't very useful when you drop an entire romset into the folder if you want to leverage multiple versions of MAME. You will inevitably run into conflicts. Where Arcade DOES make a difference is in "uniting" the interface for arcade games. In other words, non-technical users understand what an arcade game is, but may not understand the differences between AdvanceMAME, libretro cores, FBA, and so on, nor the technical reasons behind using one version of MAME for one game and another version of MAME for another. By combining ROMs under a single folder, you effectively strip the interface down to a single decision for the user: Arcade, and you manage the emulators that get used per ROM with RunCommand settings.

This idea, of course, requires a fair amount of "rom management" to keep everything straight. Instead of dropping the entire set into Arcade which would overwrite ROMs from another set that are already there, you have to mix and match individual ROMs and track which emulators you are using to launch them. This probably means you are storing the entire sets off-system and keeping track of what you use to launch each game in a spreadsheet. It seems like a lot of work, but for me, it's worth it for how it simplifies the interface. I am all for having options, but I love that I can present a clean, intuitive interface to users who don't understand (and don't want to understand) what is going on under the hood.

@MadRikXIV Yes, I never really put money in arcade games, that was an expensive pastime - 30 seconds play and then it was, "Right then, that'll be another 50p please". All I had to do was wait 30 years for MAME :D

@skiddlz a cue file is essentially a text file but with .cue as the extension, it tells the BIN file about location of audio. I'm pretty sure there is a zipped library of all cue files for psx games out there somewhere...

If you had read it, you would in the first instance post the information requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first so that help can be offered. You will also notice that in this instructional thread it states "please create a new topic and add the following relevant information so that we can help narrow down the cause of your issue." You have not done this so help cannot be offered.

If you are thinking "why not?" at this stage then consider your request "I tried configuring it, but it won't even detect at all HELP!!!". It's a very strange question. What version of retropie? What Emulator? What did you "try" to do? What do you want help with? Your configs? Where are they?

Finally, you say you read it? In the instructional thread, it clearly states "Make sure your topic title summarises the issue - do not use topic titles like "HELP ME". A better title would be "USB Controller will not control Kodi after update" - if that is what you are actually having an issue with - it's not at all clear. What is Kodi's update? Can you use the controller in emulationstation? What version of Kodi are you referring to? etc. etc. etc.

This is so that others may search for your problem. So, did you read it? No. By now, help could have been offered but nobody knows what you did or what you tried. Hopefully, my explantion of how best to get fast help will assist you in future posts.

Not sure if this helps, but this link will take you to a script that will install the xwiimote and xwiimote-tools packages.

Once installed you should be able to connect and configure the wiimote using the instructions here.

    Hope this helps!

@Butters_52 I had the same problem but it was because of my USB hub.

Try and unplug everything except power and HDMI and see if it runs then.

If so possible PSU issue as buzz said

@FoxWordsmith7 It's not that people are unwilling to help, but that your first post did not provide the required info as described in this link (linked at the top of the forum).

Also, you said you read one post about audio. Have you read the wiki pages? You did not say anything about reviewing the documentation. Most of the answers to questions are there. You can also search for specifics about Pi Zero performance. For example, I searched for just that and found an interesting thread about overclocking to improve NES and SNES performance on a Zero.

The bottom line is that almost nobody on here has the same configuration, and to make matters worse for you, nobody knows anything about your configuration because you have not provided the details. It sounds like you are using a Pi Zero, but we don't know what controllers you have, what version of RetroPie you installed, whether you installed it via the script or loaded an image, what emulator you are using, and so on and so on.

Finally, the Raspberry Pi is a learning platform. Not everything you do on the device will have a "walk through". Some really great videos have been made by the community that can be adequate for some people, but you should assume that if you pursue this you will likely become a technical person when it comes to setting up the Pi, especially if you start tweaking performance with overclocking.

You can find a volume setting both in the RetroPie configuration and in Emulation Station itself by accessing the Main Menu (Start), then Sound Settings.

Did you disable the retropie splashscreen ? Please post the contents of your /boot/cmdline.txt

Note you can speed up boot by disabling "wait for network" in raspi-config.

Also - Please do not post a support request without first reading and following the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

Please provide as much information as possible.

I know this thread is a bit old, but I can confirm that the Mayflash Genesis / Mega Drive adapter does indeed work with Retropie / UAE4ARM for Amiga emulation. I haven't had a chance to play with it too much but I was able to play Datastorm in simultaneous two player mode with two original Konix Speedking joysticks. I could move around happily and fire my guns - cool! I didn't have time to try out any other games or joysticks, but initial results are good. The Mayflash adapter is way cheaper than any other 9 pin adapter I could find (especially dual) so this was a real win.

Couple of things to mention though...

-Configuring the input confused me for while because I wanted to set the fire button to B. However I discovered that you can't skip button A during setup. I therefore set fire to A and assumed I would need to edit it manually in the config file afterwards. However when I launched the game, the fire button worked just fine, so no need to change. Button settings are below.

-Bizarrely even though I had configured the input, pushing the joystick right in the Emulation Station screen, opens up the EmulationStation menu, as though I have pressed Start/Select. Works fine in the game though. This is not really a problem as I can use the keyboard to navigate or just cycle left though the menu!

-In UAE4ARM you will need load the rp-a500 config and set input Port 1 & Port 2 to the Mayflash and save.

    D-pad Up - Button 12
    D-pad Down - Button 14
    D-pad Left - Button 15
    D-pad Right - Button 13
    A / Fire - Button 0
(Oddly these mappings differ to what is shown on the Mayflash packaging)
