it should happend automaticly, once you configure the joysticks in emulationstation.
i suggest you start by testing using jstest command, to see if the joysticks is reconized as gamepads or if it still thinks it is a keyboard.

i do read posts, but considdering that you wrote "out the box" i assumed you installed xarcade2joystick via the retropie setup script.

either way, if this works for you, then it doesnt really matter anyway

thanks @ericbsmith42 for your help tho it works the problem is that if i assign the new button to the new key it still sacrifice it because if i press up it will hook it for a second to up then cancel it with the hot key making it useless again

So it is impossible to program it to only shutdown, but not boot? Because I have it setup so it boots into on game, then another, and then shuts down and I don't want to accedently turn it off

That would require heavy hacking on the game roms themselves, while RetroArch's Netplay just uses the unmodified roms and spans the players' monitor & controller cables through the network, figuratively speaking.

The screenshots are saved in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/screenshots. For convenience, I made a link at /home/pi/screenhots with this command:

ln -s /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/screenshots /home/pi/screenhots

I’ll add this to the docs. It does say to select Atari Joystick, but it’s down in the lr-Atari emulator section and 5200 users may not read to there though they should.

@danmed yes I have the .78 romset rom and chd for area51mx running on advancemame and runs well for me. Just a bit of a hitch when entering a new area for instance.

Okay, here's what I've got in es_systems.cfg

And then put this in/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/Kodi.sh

Try gpsp's non-retroarch version. With this version, you'll probably have less lag on GBA games, since it consumes less resources than the default retroarch version.

I've tested this version on a Raspberry Pi 1 B+, and I remember playing some GBA games without lag. It was on 2015, and back then, if my memory serves, there was no lr-gpsp yet.

I don't know if it'll work on your Pi Zero, but assuming Pi Zero and Pi 1 has approximately the same hardware, there's the chance that it can work.

Maybe you can find a guide for themes in Projects and Themes.

skyscraper can have profiles added and changed, that resize and can add borders to images, there isn't anything for videos though.
