@revtommy Dump question? Is the write protection switch disabled? It is not uncommon that if you insert the SD card the write protection switch can be enabeld by accident.

Anyway: you can run sudo raspi-config and it should work to expand file system ;)

@mediamogul Good idea on the directory thing. I may try that. From the sound of it online BlueMSX (which is libretro compatible) plays some of the carts. So maybe I'll try that first, and then switch over to Coolcv for other specific games that wont play.

100% agree that a pretty interface doesn't mean anything if the game runs like poo. It's just I've got so many of other systems running smoothly with overlays and fancy doodad's that the ones that don't drive me crazy in the back of my head. :)

@reeebs said in [Rpi3] NDS touchscreen:

I don’t expect nothing in particular, as the two positions - the real one of my finger and the one of the pointer - are completely wrong: if I move, it moves too, but when I am in a corner it starts from the center and so on

That's very telling behavior and explains why the Dolphinbar wasn't recognized. The touchscreen is apparently being read in this case as a standard relative coordinates mouse. If it were being read as an absolute coordinates pointer device, the cursor would snap to wherever it was you touched at. Needless to say, this limitation combined with the wide area required to receive input really hinders precision.

I'm using a Pac-Drive from Ultimarc for my LED buttons. @savetheclocktowr made a controller software for some nice sequencing effects. It's not needed for permanent lighting, the Pac-Drive will do that out-of-the-box in Retropie.

@fluffymastodons said in Some Games do not accept control input (MAME 2003):

the ones that don't, like tapper, don't do anything at all.

Is it just Midway games you're having trouble with? 'Tapper' is a Midway MCR title and none of them have worked since MAME 0.78 was originally adapted into being a RetroArch core. You're in luck though, as after several years of this being the case, the issues have been resolved just this past month. However, you'll still need to wait for the updates to make their way to RetroPie.

I've had no luck in getting this to work. I think I'm going to go back to the stable system before I tried to get FBA and arcade cheevos working. It's a shame such a small edit can cause such a huge impact. I know my case is special, but there has to be a better fix.

Welp, I'm an idiot. I can easily customize them in the retroarch menu and save them there, just like the docs say. Mods, feel free to delete this if you feel the need.

I was interested on Milhouse build because it's best way to play 10-bit x265 videos on raspberry pi 3.
I installed it on a new sd card but they don't smooth enough, so i think I'll give up on trying playing 10-bit x265 videos

@ibshar said in Unable to configure usb gamepad on Retropi 4.4:

in jstest it showed the controlller as Microsoft Xbox 360 pad

Then it means it's already working as in 'Xbox mode'.

And how to switch the controller to xbox mode?

Look in the manual for the controller, I just saw it's possible in the item description you posted, I assume it's some button combination when you start it.

Dude you're a life saver! Thanks a lot bro, i checked the manual and found that by default the controller uses Xinput mode(used by new games) so had to switch it to Direct input mode(used by old games) and then it started working..

    Cheers..

@tr33x0rs Development on the Windows version of ES stopped over 3 years ago.
RetroPie use their own fork from Aloshi's original and have implemented many, many changes and improvements.
